I just created a 12 team fantasy league for players from here and Goldtoken. It should be a fun year, 2 spots are gone already, here's the link, and of course it's free. You do need a yahoo ID though
His publicity staff really had to work overtime to frame this move in a positive light, but Cavs fans are eating it up.In a perfect world they tell him "no thanks"
Teema: Re: This is redicaleous about the Redskins name bugging people".
Skyking: I suggest you tell that to a native American face to face, I'll wait for the response. If you are native American, you have the right to an opinion on the matter.
Pedro Martínez: I've got ticks to see Landon Donovan play(with LA Galaxy) against Toronto FC at the end of the month. He didn't look out of place on the world stage. There were far more chances on both sides than I expected, but that one goal was bruttle
awesome: Words cannot describe the mentality required to hatch that idea. It's one thing to feel for a team mate who made a terrible mistake, quite another to gleefully play the martyr card.
awesome: They do have hard evidence in a certain number of cases(cheque reciepts etc)I agree that it is difficult for players on the list to prove innocence, but it is extemely rare for atheletes to admit usage anyway,no matter how red handed they are caught,deny,deny,deny.....
Walter Montego: I trust you've seen or heard some of the fallout since the 2 pm press confrence. When I originally posted the partial list it was one of the few that hadn't been pulled from circulation. My thoughts at this point are that the players will union and lawyer up,and MLB will do virtually nothing other than to mock shock and dissapointment.
Brady Anderson, Manny Alexander, Rick Ankiel, Jeff Bagwell, Barry Bonds, Aaron Boone, Rafaeil Bettancourt, Bret Boone, Milton Bradley, David Bell, Dante Bichette, Albert Belle, Paul Byrd, Wil Cordero, Ken Caminiti, Mike Cameron, Ramon Castro, Jose and Ozzie Canseco, Roger Clemens, Paxton Crawford, Wilson Delgado, Lenny Dykstra, Johnny Damon, Carl Everett, Kyle Farnsoworth, Ryan Franklin, Troy Glaus, Rich Garces, Jason Grimsley, Troy Glaus, Juan Gonzalez, Eric Gagne, Nomar Garciaparra, Jason Giambi, Jeremy Giambi, Jose Guillen, Jay Gibbons, Juan Gonzalez, Clay Hensley, Jerry Hairston, Felix Heredia, Jr., Darren Holmes, Wally Joyner, Darryl Kile, Matt Lawton, Raul Mondesi, Mark McGwire, Guillermo Mota, Robert Machado, Damian Moss, Abraham Nunez, Trot Nixon, Jose Offerman, Andy Pettitte, Mark Pior, Neifi Perez, Rafael Palmiero, Albert Pujols, Brian Roberts, Juan Rincon, John Rocker, Pudge Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa, Scott Schoenweiis, David Segui, Alex Sanchez, Gary Sheffield, Miguel Tejada, Julian Tavarez,Fernando Tatis, Maurice Vaughn, Jason Varitek, Ismael Valdez, Matt Williams and Kerry Wood.
awesome: The Leafs should be playing The Wings and Hawks at least once a year, the schedule (as is) ruined our rivalry with the Wings. There is talk of going to an 84 game schedule to help balance things out.On one hand,I already think they should cut 10 games from the current 82 game schedule, but on the other hand,I'm aware that isn't going to happen, and if 84 gets the Wings,Hawks, and a few western teams in town,I'm all for it.
awesome: They agreed to balance the schedule a little more at the recent GM meetings,I'm tired of playing the SENS 8 times a year and not seeing the western conference
awesome: He didn't look out of place, but many a quarterback has come into a game and looked good short term.I doubt the Cowboys preped for Rodgers.Give a defense a full week of prep time and you may see a very different result.
Teema: Re: Canada's version of The Packers goes for the Grey Cup today
Czuch: I guess I should have stipulated that the "subject" didn't always corespond with the actual messege Here in Canada The Riders are a senitmental favorite.I 'm being a good Canadian today,I haven't watched a minute of NFL,just a few looks at my fantasy teams..............why did I bench Colby Smith
Teema: Re: Is anyone watching the Turkey Day Football?
Czuch: With the cable package we have I get NFL tv but not the gane channels. They are alloted channels, but I can't watch them unless I buy the package. Two games at 1 and another two at 4 are about all I can handle anyway, especially with my 9 fantasy teams filling my puter screen, that's my multi-tasking limit I guess.
Teema: Re: Is anyone watching the Turkey Day Football?
Walter Montego: My GF insisted we get the mega cable package,so I do get the NFL network amongst our 900 or so channels. Can you imagine if Favre had retired last year? this may end up being his best season ever, short of a Super Bowl
Teema: Re: Is anyone watching the Turkey Day Football?
Andersp: Excellent question, maybe the game was more rugby influenced when named? I always thought the British term for football/soccer "footie" was funny, but when you consider the term "movie" is used for a film,it becomes the logical name.
Walter Montego: I'm no Colts fan,but the steadying influence of the veteren Harrison should not be underestimated.I expected one or both teams to experience a letdown after all the hype of the game.Harrison is one of the top five recievers in the game, his loss would impact any team.
Walter Montego: I don't know if you can judge the matchup with Harrison on the sidelines.Take away the Pats top reciever and see what the result would be.
awesome: Yes hed did get the doctors ok,wednesday I think. He is still a gametime decision though, and Dungy was quoted as leaning towards holding him out this week.I have him on two of my fantasy teams and gametime decisions are a pain
awesome: I should have been more delicate when discussing your team leaving,I forgot the emotional aspect, sorry. This is the story so far:
The Bills are not considered viable long term financially as things stand now by the league.
They are seeking to play in Toronto for at least 1 regular season game a year.
It is a public fact that Wilson's estate will auction the team to the highest bidder when he passes on,he's 89.
Toronto bidders have been positioning themselves for this scenario for about 30 years, and are prepared to overpay,Tom Golisano is way over his head in terms of the money men the Toronto group has lined up.
If it is accepted fact tha the team wil be sold to the highest bidder, and Toronto will not be outbid, the happiest ending of this story(other than the team staying put) would be going to Toronto and not a west coast location.
awesome: Speaking of the home of Bowling for Dollars hosted by Chuck Healy...................We're licking our chops here in Toronto waiting for the Bills to go on the market when Ralph Wilson goes 4 and out.It would be the best compromise destination, less than a 2 hour drive, and the guys in this town are ready to outbid anyone. The Bills are going to actually play a regular season game here next year.
