Eriisa: mothballs work with snakes too i live in the country and we have the occasional snake that tried to move in but have found they dont like the scent of mothballs either
Here's Dallas weather for you. We hit our high of 95 by 11am yesterday, but then some storms came through in the afternoon, so we hit our low of 75 at 3pm.
Foxy Lady: our weather in richmond hill, ontario has been nuts too. We went from an unseasonably cold wet spring in a snap into hot summer...then we had 13 day heatwave(90-99 F) no rain no wind...now it has turnind cool again
nobleheart: Hello farmer sam LOLOL.....well you wont be getting anything shortly.....I asked you for a music preference and that was a real request. You named some people that Australia has never heard of...You see I send the seeds in a CD container and will not waste CD, postage or time on crap....oops....thats good for the garden isnt it.....sorry....
let me know your preference of music...country or what.....remember Im an older woman....and if you really were serious about getting these seeds you could send me $10 australian to cover it LOLOLOL
an insider tip: snails avoid tagetes smell - it's kinda
natural barrier, even more at blooming time - but careful
- tagetes juice might inflict skin irritation with sensible people. ~*~
Foxy Lady: buy neem oil. you can get it in a small bottle about 12 bucks will last you the summer.. This stuff isnt toxic to plants, pets, birds or ppl but bugs hate the taste. I use it on everying and finally am bug free this year! FI you buy it let me know I will tell you how to use it
Foxy Lady: Okay.. while we are sipping on wine.. *the bottle*.. we can have your hubby spray! Such a nice man he is.. I just don't wanna break a nail ya know! ;)
be careful, this happened to my mom friday..wasps are attracted to the wet clothes on the line in this dry weather.
she dropped a towel picked it up..wasp trapped inside it stung her in the arm
Another tip for Foxy Lady......I was watching a cooking programme set in Marocco & they were growing lots of grapes on overhead trellis, then on the ground they stuck a stick with an orange on the end of it, the orange was covered in syrup & all the bugs were attracted to it & they left the grapes overhead alone!
Dont know if this helps at all, but it worked well in Marocco & its enviro friendly too!
Lamby: kool idea for sure.. FYI for all Neem Oil is totally 100% enviro friendly in that it is not toxic, doesnt hurt birds, animals or people.. Bugs cant stand it.. Its from the Asian Neem tree.
Lamby: syrupy orange..clever idea that...if the bugs wont leave stuff alone..divert their attention to something else.
I have to be careful playing backgammon with ScarletRose..she tries to be cute & disctract me from the game..lol
Rose: thats great, sounds like good stuff! I much prefer enviro friendly stuff.....I try & avoid chemicals in every situation (not just gardening) if possible
Foxy Lady: Oh dear! All these creepy crawlies just love you! :oD Im honestly not laughing at your problem, its the way you tell it, it made me chuckle! Right Im going to look up ants now on google lol
