Can someone please explain the secret points to me I know it says:

This is the secret action. The amount of points is variable (from 50 to 500, depending on the points source) and the points can be found on several different pages

Is there an icon or something to click to get the secret points (will I know by looking at a page if there are secret points available)

Subject: Tournament Template
I love the idea of tournament templates - I started to play around, but it looks like it does not save tournament name or descriptions (which is the hardest part for me)

Any chance we can be able to have this information also saved in the template? For example, I would like to save in the tournament name "Fast Start - First 5 to sign - Backgammon #" - where I can then just add the next number myself.

Plus the description is always the same also, and would make since if someone can save that information in the tournament template also.

most gaming sites is that the owner does respond to questions (which is
what i miss on most other sites) .. another thing which makes this site
better than other game sites is the extras like fellowships,
tournaments which you can create yourself, team matches, prize
tournaments. some people (including me) like new things being added,
the old things can still be used, but new things can be explored :) ..
add all this up and you will find out this site is in many ways a
better site than others (there are other sites though which focus on 1
or 2 aspects and do that better (like dailygammon) but for the overal
aspect this site rocks :)) (in my opinion)))

i am not a native english speaker (i am dutch), so i might have misunderestood some questions

  • i think you wonder why you are redirected from this board to another board sometimes. this board is about brainking.com itself and not about other subjects like the weather or politics or saying hi to friends .. general chat is the board meant for that .. i think (but i might be wrong) that this board is a bit formal and should not have too much offramping which would bury the real subjects

  • i dont have webtv .. but i think the site still works with webtv .. the new layout doesnt, but thats still in testing .. i dont know what the future will bring for brainking+webtv though

If you want, I can give you more detailed instructions in a PM.

Thanks for posting about this - I thought I had disabled all of my invites, but after reading this I found that they were all still there - since I guess it did not accept it when I chose to show no invites.

So I just made it so only 1 game is shown - even though I will reject those invites also. Would also like to see it possible to turn off all invites instead of the all but 1 invite.

pauloaguia: I agree, about the Knights/Bishops and Rooks.
Maybe the prizes should be relevant to level of membership a player has.
Obviously this would not apply to Black Rooks as membership is not relevant to THEM.
I think they should have a prize of another description, still based on Action points though.

MadMonkey: I think the difference between Knights/Bishops and Rooks in that matter is much more importante than between White and Black Rooks. And yet, they are all packed in the same category.
Most Baclk Rooks have AP's disabled, since they don't want to put up with the adds and/or there's nothing to gain in there for them. I also think it's fair to let Black Rooks enter a competition against as many players as possible - a dozen BlackRooks competing between themselves to win a prize is not nearly as fun as the same competition with over 100 players.

That said, I don't care either way because I have APs switched off

If a Black Rook wants to do that i am sure they could afford to put up a prize for a Tournament anyway ! After all they could afford to be a Black rook.
Would you rather not like to win a new PC game, or brainking goodies or something useful to yourself.

I think that Black Rooks should have a different monthly action to everyone else when it comes to membership being a prize(have PC games or something from brainking store for example).
Black Rooks obviously are here a lot and play many games, thats why they purchased the membership in the first place.
MOST normal players do not really stand a chance of beating them when it comes to Action points for obvious reasons.
All that will happen is it is won, then given as a prize in there own Tournaments or given away, not exactly fair for NON-Black Rooks and pointless for Black Rooks as they dont need it, let them win something else.

Subject: Re: Disabling all invites.
Fencer: I've a simple rule on all game sites I play: I never accept invitations. If I want to play a particular game with particular time settings, I join a tournament according that suits my tastes, or pick one from the waiting games page. I might even create my own tournament or post something on the waiting games page. I certainly don't want to explain to people why I reject their invitations, so currently whenever I get invited, I put the person inviting me on my blocked users list, then decline the invitation.

I don't invite random strangers to play - and I appreciate it not to be invited either.

I'm with Abigail on this one. I got a huge shock when I bought my membership and went mental with the tourney and team signups so disabling invites would be really good until I learn to control myself better. LOL

I currently have 133 games (27 tourneys) and I managed that in the space of a week or so. After being limited to 20 (1 tourney) for so many years I need time to get used to having that large a game list so disabling all invites would be really helpful! Although I don't have much control so I may not use it!! LOL

I don't understand your reply. Are you saying it's OK to ignore invites for 101 out of 102 games, but not to ignore them for 102? If that's so, could you tell us in which games the least invites happen, so I can leave that game enabled?

How does one prevent oneself from getting invites? I can go to the game filter settings, and disable all games to receive invites for, but one. If I deselect them all, it just comes back with whatever was the previous setting. So the best I can do is disable all games, except for one. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?
