Is there any way to figure out your action points if you are not in the top 50?

Anyway, it's just an monthly action. If you don't like it, wait for the August one.

It is done. Board points can be earned only once an hour, for every board separately. It should make the other types of points more important.

Fencer: It would seem a lot of people are taking this far to seriously. As Fencer said, it will be fixed, please dont lose any sleep over it LOL

I can just imagine sitting down to dinner and Welly Walezs complaining to the family in a sobby voice "someone cheated me out of getting higher points on brainking this month boo hoo"

Geez peeps, lighten up and get some perspective !!!

There seems to be a small bug in the system. When it's fixed (soon), the discussion board action points will be reset and started over. Not a big problem, the action just started, it can still be finetuned.

KotDB: I agree totally.  Actually, even if I open all discussion boards, BK doesn't realize if I'm reading them or not.  It's just opening and closing an dis of no certain use.  Moving points is better, in my opinion.

Jason: It's not only your opinion. I'm all for giving out rook memberships as prizes, but competitive discussion-board reading seems like a rather strange criterion.

As for the rest, I suspect we're talking about different things. But I'll leave it at that.

I've just discovered that it is possible to receive points many times for reading the same posts. Between 200 and 300 of my points are the result of this experiment and should be removed from my score. But it's unlikely to matter, because I intend to bow out of the competition. I have neither the time nor the patience to keep up this craziness for a month, and I couldn't accept a prize in good conscience if I won by exploiting such a loophole.

And before anyone asks: No. Unless your name is Fencer, I will not tell you how.

O2i: I don't know what you mean by multiple windows being open (ie. for what and how?), but I made a mistake about the accounts. I've just reread the rules page and seen that you can get referrals for new guest accounts, in which case, yes, someone could register 100 a day... My bad.

02i: Then I'm not sure I understand what the problem is with someone creating 100 accounts and referring to themself - 100 subscriptions is a lot of money to pay for some points in a competition! Or are you talking about something else?

pawnme: well , there can be provisions for that too. people who share the computer can say that they do and then they can have their accounts separate but registered as a family or friends or group or whatever and not be allowed to refer one another or play against each other to prevent giving more than normal points or wins to someone. and playbunny i am talking about new registered accounts not guest visits.

Subject: Re:
Vikings: as far as your explanation goes , maybe thats it but that matter can only be resolved if the site is modigfied in a way that only one page of brainking can be opened at a time from 1 computer and if that can be done , it would also solve the problem of people having multiple accounts thats is if the coputer id is stored for each new account registered , that sort of thing is present on other sites like iyt.com where you can only create 1 new account from a computer. uptil now we are talking about illegal points from discussion boards but whats to stop someone from reistering 100 new accounts everyday from his computer and referring him/herself for all of them and right now there is no way of checking in as to who is legit and who is not.

02i: If you set your page to only display a certain amount of messages (I can't remember how low you can go) then you can review each page separatly, rather then having all your messages on one page. You may have 100 pages to review (equaling 600 points), and that is just for one board. You may even have more then 100 pages to review! I guess you would have to view them from oldest message to newest message and set the display to a minimum. As for me, mines set for the max and I only view the newest messages because I can't be bothered to go back 3 years in time to review old messages (or at least bring the page up).
