What if you wanted to go on a two week ski vacation in January but had only accrued 3 days of vacation time?

Jules,

(asked in a friendly way) Why wouldn't it be fair? True, it favors players who have been here the longest, but if it treats everyone the same, it's fair. Plus, in your example, you'd know far in advance that you were going away July, so you could plan games you start in May/June accordingly. No harm done.

But the whole point of vacation days is that it is to cover vacations and times when things go wrong with your computer :)

People might misuse it, but most don't.

Auto vacations are annoying...but...eventually they will run out. How about this...only allow as many auto-vacation days as the Time per move. For example, if the game has 3 days for the time to move, then only allow three consecutive auto-vacation days. If it allows 2 weeks then allow two weeks of consecutive auto-vacation days. That way, it is still somewhat in line with what the game creator had in mind.

Wouldn't be fair on someone who joins and then 2 months later goes on their annual vacation for 2 weeks.

Many people accrue vacation days over time at their jobs. They don't start out with the full allotment of days. If vacation time were handled that way here, it would be much better. Perhaps give out 3 vacation days each month. It wouldn't solve every case of abuse, but it would reduce and/or eliminate many of them and I don't see how it would create any new ones.

Yes.. I agree BBW.. I just checked on the one user that has abused this.. only to learn he has 623 games going.. I don't know how many were in the last few mins.. but, a large portion of his games were in their final hours..

Why is he allowed to have so many games to begin with if he isn't going to play on them..

That's great in theory. But hard to do if your in hospital or your puter has burst into flames and the maker won't do anything about it untill their representative comes down from the City and takes a look at it. Only he's just started his two week vacation.

The only thing I would like to see is possible only allowed to use 5 autovacations at one time (with 2 weekend days, gives a week to get back to the site)

After that, a person would have to manualy set vacation days for them to work.

the only change i could see is that auto vacation days wont be used if a player was online the during the last 12 hours or so

otherwise it shouldnt be that big a problem to rooks does it ?

for pawns playing with someone using auto vacation its another matter though ..

is there anything that can be done by those that are abusing the system, with auto vacation, I have a player whose games keep adding 24 hrs they never play the games will the auto vacation run out at the end of the year, it certainly slows the process of the games

    <55ul> and <55li> create combined a list(without 55).....
    For example:
    <55ul>
    <55li>Statement 1 of the list
    <55li>Statement 2 of the list
    <55li>Statement 3 of the list
    </55ul>
    Gives...........:

    • Statement 1 of the list
    • Statement 2 of the list
    • Statement 3 of the list

    Normally </li> at the end of each statement should be accepted but here it works incorrectly............
