Purple: I don't see it :( Are you sure it's the right name? profile for stardust: Name: Stardust Membership: Guest Status Joined: 19 October 2003 Last Play: 14 January 2004 one finished game, no current games
ketchuplover:That might be what's needed for backgammon tournies here. Some of us already use memorized Match Equity Tables. We may need to combine them with actuarial tables, to account for the differential likelihood of the players passing away during the events.
Fencer: It would be nice to celebrate somehow......a special prize tournament maybe......but that could carry on for ages i guess......there must be something we can do to mark 10 years
Subject: how to avoid beeing added in team tournaments without asking before
is there a possibility or any option that can be used to avoid people adding me in tournament teams, without being asked before? i don't like to be added without being asked before... but i couldn't find any option in the settings...any idea?
Subject: Re: how to avoid beeing added in team tournaments without asking before
speachless: There is not option like that. When people join teams, it is expected that they want to participate in team events (matches, tournaments). The easiest workaround is to leave the particular team (or all of them).
Hrqls: Good! If nothing goes wrong, I might be able to release the first beta version within a week or two. It already connects to the server and shows some data (games to play, number of new messages etc.), so I hope the rest won't be too difficult to add.
I'm not sure if it's been asked before but is there any way pawns can play ponds? Would be much better as the ponds would be bigger and they can play every other game on teh site anyway.
Ack, I've got that horrible feeling now because I know a tournament that I started recently will go on for years because of this one person. Hasn't moved against anyone in the section yet, has started thousands of games and keeps signing up for more. Will probably end up hijacking hundreds of tournaments.
Purple: Upon further investigation the game reached 2 kings only on red's 167th move. Last move was red's 241st. No captures inbetween. Apparently the site doesn't recognize the 50 move rule.
ketchuplover: Nope, Brainking doesn't reconize draw positions other than stalemate. If one or both players refuse to declare a draw you need to contact Fencer to end the game manually.
ketchuplover: He still hasn't moved yet, OMG. By the way, I think he literally signed up for every single game in this particular tournament and I doubt he's moved once in any of them. This seems to be a problem that plagues BK. It does occur a little bit on other sites but never to this extreme.
ketchuplover: There is no "fine conversation". He has refused my draw offer and waits until the last minute of his three week move restriction. As far as I understand, he is older than I and will likely die first.
