From the time I registered on this site the setting was always set to a light/white ground. What the heck has happened since is beyond me. I finally had to re-set to a dark background just to be able to read without extra-special, night-vision glasses! Something is wrong somewhere and I never changed a thing until last night when all the other members suggestions came in.
keeshound, its usully the simple things we miss. It may sound like a silly question, but after you click to change white/dark background, did you click on 'save and finish'?

I've disabled timeouts until the new timeout system is lauched. The current one is a little, uh, buggy and although it affected only a few players, it would be better to avoid more wrong timeouts in advance.
That is one of the reasons for the past year, I have been saying that there should be some sort of rules/guidelines that Moderators should try to follow on all public boards - but as you see, each Moderator is left to determin the rules for themselves - and when multiply Moderators try to watch the same room, when one of them see's things differently how things should be ran. (For example, GC room - one see's off topic post as good, other see's it as bad. One see's removing post and leaving user as OK, other sees that post should be put on hide.... etc... etc...) Time like this I'm glad I don't share Moderator job with anyone on the boards I watch! :-)
What would be some rules/guidelines Moderators should have (in my opinion)
1) Post should try to stay on topic of the room. IF post start to go off topic, a friendly reminder should be posted by Moderator to take the talk to General Chat, or where it is appropriate.
2) Foul Language needs to be removed from the board. If a post is a good on-topic post with just place or two of foul language, the post should be edited to remove the foul language, and also at the bottom of the post, you should put *edited by XXXXX for language*
3) If there are multiply Moderators of a room, the first one listed in the MAIN Moderator. If any of the other Moderators comes across someone breaking the rules over and over, they should HIDE that persons and let the main moderator have a look at them to decided if that person should be banned.
4) The MAIN Moderator should be the only person to unban a user. The only exception whould be if the main moderator is off line for more then 4 days, and the punishment has been served by the user.
... of course those 4 are just off the top of my head - probable need to be tweeked more, and more added.

I share moderator positions with others on different boards and have no trouble whatso ever. The gc board has turned into a joke.
Theres a total lackof communication,on behalf of the moderators...myself included...though I have tried.Even though the main moderator cant figure out how to remove his "helpers" I really would like to wash my hands of the whole deal.I thought I could help....but it seems I was wrong.
Exactly, bwild.
When I asked MadMonkey and NOT a floosie to be my co-mods, we laid the ground rules between us.
If I don't agree with one of their decisions, or they with mine, we sort it out in private.
I have such a hard time trying to invite someone to play. If I go to send invitation that doesn't set up a game. I really feel ignorant in spinning my wheels on what should be a simple procedure.

Here is how I invite a user to a game.
1) Go to that persons profile
2) Find the " Invite PLAYER to a game of ____", choose a game and hit send
3)This page you have lots of options to invite multiply games, who is what color, etc - default is 1 normal game. At this point, you should be able to hit Send.
4) At this point it is waiting for the other person to accept. on the bottom of your main page, you will see a list of invites you have sent.
If you are still having problems, let me know and I can try to help.
