I since created a paypal account and used that to buy membership.
Following what Harley posted last night (thanks for the information harley) I would confirm that it isn't all that difficult to get a paypal account, and also that you don't need a cheque book account or credit card to do so. Paypal accept debit cards too, and once you have a paypal account the process of buying membership is straight forward. So for any brits out there who would like membership yet have no credit card or cheque book but do have a debit card, it's worth considering paypal as one of your options.
Good thing you brought it up then, it brought about a solution to your dilemma and should aid people in a similar situation as well.
You right about the payment page, it could be a little more straight forward and the only way fencer can know is our feedback. I imagine making it as easy as possible is so crutial, I wonder many people will simply give up at the first snafoo they hit.
i'm not a member yet its in the mail like many others i have no visa, when i got to the payment page and it said purchase well how do i purchase i don't have a visa. So i cancelled being confused at that point i went to contact and sent off and e-mail with my questions. I received an anwers that day in detail on whats past that purchase page and it was quite easy after that, so i'm glad i sent off the e-mail even thought i felt silly doing it, because the info was there i just couldn't get past the purchase page i didn't know if i could get back out if i went into the purchase page.
