About flipping the board, it is not supported yet. I'll add this feature later. But if you play backgammon in real, the players sit at the opposite side of the table, don't they? So one of them can see the bearing off on the left and the opponent on the right. Or am I not right?

You are right about that, just on the other sites they just show one direction which ever player you are, will just take a bit of getting used to.

What you say about bearing off is true. However normally you both bear off from your side of the board. At the moment we are bearing off from the opponent's side of the board. This is like starting a game and then swapping seats with your opponent.
I learnt to play backgammon with the board this way round...however most online sites seem to have it the opposite..perhaps I should take advantage of everyones confusion here?? LOL
