Subject: Just curious...
The first team tournament went off at 3 days per move. The new ones are all at 5 days per move. Why the change? It seemed like the participation in the first one was high. I havent heard anyone talking about a massive amount of time outs from any games. # days seems like a good middle of the road time limit that should work for everyone. Or maybe 5 days and deactivate the weekends? As it is, a 5 day tournament game can last 420 days for a 30 move game, plus vacation time, and holidays.

I think that team tournaments should be under 1 year in length, for the whole tournament, not 1.15 years+ just for one game. Our memberships are only good for a year, we should be able to play a team tournament, and have it finish within a year.

I vote for 3 days team tournaments, that is plenty of time....

Only a little more then a day left to sign up for All Games for dummies (under 1500 & unrated) #5 Tournament!

This tournament is for any player rated under 1500 in a game ---- OR ---- if you are currently unrated and would like to try a new game, this is the perfect tournament to join! (since you don't have to worry about "expert" players beating you too quickly!)

  • Only about a day left to sign up
  • Under 1500 BKR (or unrated)
  • I will remove players who are rated way above 1500 before tournament start (already removed a couple)
  • Each game time needs AT LEAST 4 players to start, and there are a few currently with 2 or 3 that could use another player to start.
  • So go and SIGN UP NOW!

BBW: The points are more important. Only when two teams have the same points, the score matters. It's an equivalent to S-B in normal tournaments.

    Subject: Team Tournament Question
For team tournaments, I'm guessing it goes by points for who will win a section.

My question: If there is a tie with the points, is it a "tie", or does the score (win/lose) come into play?

OR am I backwards where the Score is what matters, and the "points" is the tie breaker.

    Subject: Re: knights
No, you haven't been conned rebelyell, that's still the rule. Knights can join ONE team tournament at a time.
Knights can only join one tournament of a game type at a time.
But knights can play in a team tournament (backgammon for example) and also play in a normal backgammon tournament at the same time so it is possible to play in two tournaments of the same type that way.

    30. July 2004, 10:56:24
    Fencer
    That's still valid.

    30. July 2004, 10:56:19
    sandra...
No its not changed... You can obviuosly be captains of as many teams... but to play in them is different... its one of each game for normal tournaments! and one of the team tournaments.

I am sure if I am wrong I will be told... lol

And tournaments are different from normal games. On GT the ladder games are 3 days I think, and they work fine :o)

You need to do some spelling editing for it to read right by the way ;o)
