No added bonus to have your friends join up to the site if that is what you were meaning Derek. No discounts either on signing up more then one person. If that isnt what you mean rephrase it an we will try to help explain anything you want to know about that site.

I understand it cost mony to get a paid membership for six months but I dont get what happens when you have friends sign up to.

18. July 2004, 18:41:58
Stevie
You need to get a paid membership to join a fellowship, then you can join a team.

So yes it costs money

Okay, we have a running tournament in backgammon and a new tournament to sign up in five in line.
What else? Which other game would have a support in as many teams as possible? Chess, maybe?

18. July 2004, 13:14:43
Mike UK
It's common sense that if you roll dice to see who starts, neither colour has an advantage.

18. July 2004, 12:59:34
bumble
I meant Game Rules - backgammon of course!

18. July 2004, 12:58:31
bumble
According to the stats on Play This Game - backgammon, white has about a 1% advantage.

18. July 2004, 12:56:27
Fencer
I am not a backgammon expert so when I say it doesn't matter, I don't guarantee it's true :-) It's just my opinion.

18. July 2004, 12:53:44
Stevie
Im glad you said that,
Ive had this discusiion before when Ive said that in Backgammon with the die deciding who starts, it doesnt matter wjat colour you are. So only one games needed in tournies.

BUT when ive said this, Ive been shouted down from all directions saying it does matter.

Now the boss has spoken, maybe they will believe me LOL

18. July 2004, 12:51:51
Fencer
It depends. I am white in two and black in three games. But the system of colours will be improved, I didn't pay much attention to it in this case of backgammon.

18. July 2004, 12:48:16
Stevie
Its a good job its backgammon and not some of the other games,

I am black in all my games

seems to me,its just one win...I use this feature to play friends who I play regularly, and it doesnt seem to affect our bkr's very much at all.

18. July 2004, 07:35:51
Czuch
bwild.. is the bkr affected the same as if you won one game?, or does it take into account that you won 5 or any losses?

18. July 2004, 07:30:50
bwildman
5 wins=1 match=1 bkr score.

Subject: Team tourney...
There are many people, almost 100, and even at 3 days, it could last a real long time. Are vacations and weekends akkowed? Wha happens if someones membership lapses? Or if they just leave the site after a year, or whenever? Should we allow substitutes or something? I know aregular tournament is one thing, if you want to resign or time out for whatever reason, but how will that affect the rest of the team. I can envision playing for a year or something, and then have a teammate not be able to play for whatever reason....I am wondering if this aspect has been thought about?

18. July 2004, 07:24:13
Czuch
In a 5 wins match contest, how is each game scored for bkr purposes? Is it like one win after you win all 5 games or what?

18. July 2004, 06:57:58

you bet Antje, I am excited! hope it don't delay again.

Derek: In anti-chess you're supposed to lose all your pieces. The player with no pieces left, wins!

18. July 2004, 03:21:12
bumble
IMupChucKing: I assume you enter the maximum amount of players you want (20) then start the tournament when 20 have signed up.
Set the start date, say, amout a month from now then if 20 people sign up tomorrow you can bring the start date forward by editing.

I just won a game against leprechaun in anti chess by capuring all his peices including the King but it counted as a win for him what is going on and has it happened to you

ou need to be a paid member to be eligable to get brains. Once a member, you can earn brains by refering people to pay for membership. Those earned brains can then be used to upgrade your membership or get a new one when it runs out.
