Its a good job its backgammon and not some of the other games,

I am black in all my games

18. July 2004, 12:51:51
Fencer
It depends. I am white in two and black in three games. But the system of colours will be improved, I didn't pay much attention to it in this case of backgammon.

Stevie
Im glad you said that,
Ive had this discusiion before when Ive said that in Backgammon with the die deciding who starts, it doesnt matter wjat colour you are. So only one games needed in tournies.

BUT when ive said this, Ive been shouted down from all directions saying it does matter.

Now the boss has spoken, maybe they will believe me LOL

Fencer
I am not a backgammon expert so when I say it doesn't matter, I don't guarantee it's true :-) It's just my opinion.

18. July 2004, 12:58:31
bumble
According to the stats on Play This Game - backgammon, white has about a 1% advantage.

18. July 2004, 12:59:34
bumble
I meant Game Rules - backgammon of course!

18. July 2004, 13:14:43
Mike UK
It's common sense that if you roll dice to see who starts, neither colour has an advantage.

Okay, we have a running tournament in backgammon and a new tournament to sign up in five in line.
What else? Which other game would have a support in as many teams as possible? Chess, maybe?

Who are you?

18. July 2004, 18:40:47
Derek
I just joined a couple days ago and I have had a few questions about the site

18. July 2004, 18:41:58
Stevie
You need to get a paid membership to join a fellowship, then you can join a team.

So yes it costs money

18. July 2004, 18:45:03
Derek
I understand it cost mony to get a paid membership for six months but I dont get what happens when you have friends sign up to.

18. July 2004, 18:46:33
Rose
No added bonus to have your friends join up to the site if that is what you were meaning Derek. No discounts either on signing up more then one person. If that isnt what you mean rephrase it an we will try to help explain anything you want to know about that site.

Derek
what is the brainking.com ID and referral ID

18. July 2004, 19:05:11
Stevie
You only get the brains when a friend pays, If they refer to you when paying AND if you are already a paid member yourself

Id suggest taking this to gen chat before Bumble gets all in a madmonkey at us for off topic LOL

Wow - 8 players per 5-in-line team, that's a lot of players for 1 team. (Runs off and see's who's 5-in-line team needs a players)

BBW's Team Tournament Suggestions:

1) Another Gammon tournament (Nack, Race, or Crowded)

2) Spider Line4

3) Even though it's new, I'm sure there could easly be 5 teams of 5 players - Battleboats Plus (There are probable already enough regular Battleboat teams, but I know for myself, and probable others - I would much rather play the PLUS version then the regular version.)

i need lots of players on all my teams for any tourney... :(

Fencer
Stevie: You have 50 members in your fellowship, why is it that difficult to find only 8 of them?

19. July 2004, 10:59:46
Stevie
Because there are many fellowships

19. July 2004, 11:38:04
Fencer
The first fellowship has just signed up. It is possible to find 8 players.

19. July 2004, 11:45:09
Stevie
and?

You dont have the luxury of so many paid members that you can expect many to enter many tournies of that size, becaus eknights are limited remember, and rooks are cutting down on games etc because they dont know wether its worth renewing etc or games are getting on top of them.

I think you will find it harder and harder to fill tournies of that size

19. July 2004, 11:49:52
Fencer
And? Who is capable of finding enough members to participate, will sign up. If you are not, it's your problem, not mine.
