Ceiter: Yes - for 2nd rounds of tournaments (and 3rd, 4th, etc...) For new tournaments, it will kick you out if you don't have enough free spaces.

So with 20/50 game limit (pawn/knight), you can go over the limit when 2nd rounds of tournaments start - and can be over the 20/50 game limit.
