I have been eating yogurt for my nightly snack instead of sweets. With working out at the gym too, maybe I can lose a few pounds!!

That diet does wonders for a lot of things. I had been diagnosed as diabetic..since I started the diet, my blood work is all fine. I will continue on it too!!

Hello Clay from Nashville..way to go! I too have been on the South Beach Diet since Jan.1 and the carbs are not a problem for me either. I lost about 25 lbs and 5 in. off the waistline. Have kept the weight off and that feels good. My doctor highly approves the South Beach Diet also!!
Keep up the good eating!!

Way to go Foxy..you are doing so good! You and baby will both benefit from that healthy diet. I like the fresh veggies too but always want to dip them in some nice ranch dressing...ooops!!

So true Chatty and if we just continue to eat the good foods, everything will be fine.
Musiclover, that 2 lbs could very well just be fluid retention! Let's have some more fruit!!!:)

Sara Lee has come out with bread that is only 9 carbs per slice so I do indulge in that. As long as I stay away from regular white bread, I do ok.
I agree with you sissie, the South Beath Diet is a bit more lenient than Atkins and I believe a healthier plan as well. My doctor approves that one 100% and is very pleased with counts on my blood work. I will stay with it because I sure feel good as well!

Scoobydoo, I stayed strictly on the phase 1 for the 2 weeks. Have continued to leave anything white out of my diet. You can have wheat bread and things like that. SaraLee makes a very good bread now that only has 9 grams per slice..even came out with a white bread recently that is the same. When I want a glass of iced tea, I use Splenda to sweeten...NO SUGAR! After the phase 1, as you know, you can add different things to your diet. I indulge myself to a good meal out with my husband now and then..that don't hurt a thing. I haven't gained back any of the weight by doing that!! Good luck to you and let me know anytime I can help!!

Yes scoobydoo2, I have been on the South Beach diet since Jan.1 and think it's a great diet. Even my doctor is on it. Have lost about 25 lbs, and 5 in. around the waistline. I walk a mile a day weather permitting and that helps a lot also.
Am losing slowly but more importantly I feel great. I also agree with everything that Cole said. It's a matter of changing your way of eating for a healthier and hopefully slimmer you!

Glad to know that info about Curves. They have them near me and I have considered going there instead of the gym that I went to. I would be more comfortable with only women there. I will check them out!

Congratulations Rose! How long did it take you to lose 53 lbs.? I agree with you totally about the carbs. I am on the South Beach Diet and it does teach about good carbs as well as the bad ones.

I think all those diets are good. The results depends on how dedicated we are to sticking with it. Sometimes I cheat a little but it is permitted as long as I don't over do it. I did have to get new pants and that felt wonderful to buy a 12 instead of 14.
Thanks for your kind words Antje!!

Great job Antje! I have only lost about 20 lbs. and 4 inches off the waist. Have managed to keep it off but I too have sorta fell off the wagon. Have been on the South Beach Diet and walking a mile a day. Need to get serious again!!
That is very good advice from both Antje and Cole.
Thanks for the helpful hints!
Hang in there myway..you can do it!!

I agree Star..it seems that this board has almost been abandoned. I keep looking every day tho. I don't really have a good hint as I have hit a stand still in my diet efforts. Maybe I am just not trying hard enough!!!

Wow, I didn't know there was such a thing as "water intoxication"...get a buzz without alcohol!LOL Am sure it can be dangerous. I drink water but not to excess. Don't drink anything with my meals.
Yes Antje, that round shape is easy to maintain. It's all this other that is the very devil to achieve!!
Linda, I felt out of breath until I lost a few pounds and got the pressure off my lungs. Rarely get breathless now even tho I have only lost about 20 lbs. Think the 4 in off the mid section is what helped! Guess the reason your hubby don't get out of breath is just the difference in our structure. Is that right Antje?

Hey Linda, ditto on us pleasantly plumpers! Do I like the shape I am in..of course I do, round is a shape!!LOL

Hang in there Foxy Lady. We are with you 100%! If we can help with a little encouragement then we will all make our goal. You just take care of yourself!
