Is it possible to get 180 brains from 377 games with only 3 of them wins?

Doesn't seem cool to me!!

There's a none answer to a question.

So using them to enter tournaments that others can't is ok by you?

Bernice, I asked two questions. Not of anyone in particular. I received no answer from anyone except the reply from Heals, that was not an answer.

I was not being disrespectful or not nice but as has occurred in the past, when anyone who isn't a long term club member asks questions they are "attacked" for asking and get at best deflective replies rather than constructive answers.

Once again it is like deja Vue all over again.

My original question is still unanswered. My secondary question, the same!

If it's ok that some can play tournaments requiring brains while those that don't use unethical methods to acquire them can't, then that is the possibly the answer to my secondary question you somehow construed as not nice.

It was asked in the hope of an answer.

I have read what the site has to say regarding brains

Nice works: i am sorry it hought me being disprespectful, that was not my intention and i dont think you were being disrespectful either .. i just wanted to point out that brains cannot be used anymore for anything which is connected to real money

brains allows you to enter specific tournaments though

if you have any suspicions about anyone being cheating, or want to accuse someone, you can best send a direct message to fencer

fencer is the only one who can do anything about it by either blocking or banning that player

posting accusations on a public board like this might just cause a witchhunt which is not what this board is for

Hrqls: this has all been brought to the attention of Fencer by more than one person, and nothing has changed. It is ridiculous how much cheating is going on, and I have lost a lot of faith in this site. The brains issue is just a part of it as well as multiple accounts.

Temo: Re:
mal4inara: that is indeed a problem ... the problem is fencer is the only one who can do something about it, and he has stated some years ago that this is no longer maintained.

Some say he should have closed the site completely to prevent these kind of problems, but he was kind enough to let the site running with the side remark that it is no longer maintained with all consquences

the only other "solution" for cheaters is to contact them directly and maybe talk sense into them

or you could start a witchhunt, making the site a real total mess for anyone who is still having fun playing their normal games

personally i couldnt care less to the amount other people have or wether they are cheating or not .. let them have their false fun by their false virtual ranks and virtual brains .. as long as i can play my normal games and have fun with the people i play with and who i know to be honest i am ok .. but thats just me personally :-)

Hrqls: I definitely like your view but unfortunately I have ended up with multiple games with cheaters, and it's hard to enjoy games with them.

This has been going on for months, and some of the cheaters have been contacted directly to no avail.

Anyway, I've had enough of all this, nothing is going to happen, and I try hard to avoid games against known cheaters.

Hrqls: Just one philosophical question to any who can answer: Apparently it is possible to get any number of brains due to some programming oversight, fine. Now the question: what is the point of using those brains to enter tournaments where you pay some of those brains, hoping to win... brains, which you can get more of without the effort? Something escapes me, LOL

Nice Works: The solution to your problem is obvious. Just block the person and get on with life here on BrainKing. Some people block right fast, but it seems you have tried to set a game playing environment with potential opponents of what you'd like. I understand that as that is what I try to do. I can chat or play without any chatting. Some of the other things you complain about in your profile about a certain player or two I also find unacceptable, so I do not play with the type of person I do not want to play with any more. It ain't that hard to arrange. Give it a try.

As for cheating. A few of us have come across a number of cheaters in Backgammon. I stopped playing them. Fencer has a low interest in Backgammon here on BrainKing. It could be a better game and if you're into Backgammon there's plenty of other places to find it. I play the game, but my interest in it is not as keen as other peoples. As for the cheaters or the rude players that you say run the clock and behave poorly, my advice is, "Don't play them."

No I didn't think you were being disrespectful. And no it wasn't the person I refer to in my profile ( which I need to update. However there is a definite connection between the two as the person I referred too gave the second person his second account. I sent fencer a message weeks ago pointing out the blatant cheating of both.

I also agree that there is no point having a witch-hunt for those that are obviously cheating by having multiple accounts. It seems as universal as pin head Larry. (Joke). It is an unfortunate fact that those with lower moral beliefs will be attracted to unscrupulous options and use them.

For long term users of the site who have been here throughout its development, accepting low life behaviour seems to be more acceptable, with comments basically saying ...that's just how it is now. For newer people who read how brains were the currency including entry to tournaments, it sadly tells the story of a once great site that has lost 95% of its integrity. Yes I have read fencers comments re zero maintenance, however to allow the accumulation of brains by loopholes not to be there and multiple accounts does mean almost zero integrity.

On occasion he has fixed some issues but not blatant cheating. I don't understand that from an integrity viewpoint. I believe having a level playing ground is paramount to minor game issues.
I understand those that are happy to play those they know is a good thing. Like mal4inara, I avoid those I know to be cheating, but have not known of others until playing them.

Perhaps I should not have asked the original question, but I am glad I did. If these issues can't be fixed these people should in my opinion be named and shamed but only if fencer won't take action. It is sad but typical human nature that without policing, some will look to get an advantage over the honest.

you make thise players look like politicians :-)

bug can be fixed quite easily smetimes if you know how the situations can be reproduced
dealing with cheaters needs an almost continuous monitoring and mostly by a human as cheaters are often more clever than the system (or copycats of someone else who was clever)

which games do you like best ?
i thnk brainking was mainly focused on chess and its variants in the beginning but i could be wrong
dailygammon is the best backgammon site imho
jijbent.nl (and its englsh and german version) are like brainking butless chess orientated ... jijbent.nl has a very strong line-game player base for example
the other sites i dont know that well ... i joined a few more but left those quite fast for various of reasons

Bernice: i which way was i "not nice" ? i thought he was referring to the use of brains for buying memberships ... which isnt possible anymore ... so they arent worth any real-money anymore

you can still use them to enter tournaments though which i didnt think of .. so without brains you are excluded from tournaments which gives people with (unjustly) brains an access to tournaments which others dont have

Nice works: ok that is true, you can enter tournaments with them ... i thought you were referring for their use to buy memberships with as you could in the past .. luckily that cannot be done anymore as that would give brains a real-money-value ... but you can indeed still enter tournament with them ..

is this the same person to which you are referring in your profile, who is playing 2 accounts and making them play eachother?

then you should send a pm to fencer so he might block/ban/... those accounts as that is definetly cheating

Nice works: I'm not sure what kind of answer you expect, if you really except a serious answer, and are not just trolling.

Yes, it is of course possible to win an unlimited amount of brains in three wins - you enter a tournament with four participants, where X brains are offered for the winner, and win your three games. You will get X brains; with no upper limit on X. Is this the answer you wanted?

Realistically, the player has not won his brains that way; he either got them through cheating, or bought them, or as a donation - I got a 1000 brain donation some years ago, when I asked nicely for tips to be able to join those tournaments.

That approach might work for you too, but I'd recommend to reconsider the wording of your posts - if people see them as trolling, they are more reluctant to donate you brains. Otherwise, of course, you can write what you want.

Yes thanks.

However in the situation I was referring too , the three games won were not tournament or even stairs game. So yes thank you for determining it is possible,

As it wasn't in this case, what do you think in reference to my original question?

:)
