Sam has closed his piano and gone to bed ... now we can talk about the real stuff of life ... love, liberty and games such as
Janus, Capablanca Random, Embassy Chess & the odd mention of other 10x8 variants is welcome too

For posting:

- information about upcoming tournaments
- disussion of games (please limit this to completed games or discussion on how a game has arrived at a certain position

Asunto: About the endgames
Caissus, I generated every mate possible with 5-piece in Gothic Chess. That is, I have the "5-piece tablebases" completed for Gothic Chess.

My solutions are not from Vortex, these are actually forced mates.

I started by identifying all checkmated positions. Then, I find all of the moves that lead to a mate in 1, a mate in 2, a mate in 3, etc.

This program ran for several months and solved all such mates.

The endgame databases will be part of the next version of Vortex so you can see for yourself.
