I have a question,i have a huge wavy petunia.I should say was huge thats dying on me.Flowers are turning brown,i think i overwatered it but i'm not sure.I thought the chilly nites got it but i see others that left there flowers out and look great.
Thought about calling the florists that i bought it from.My question is will it recover? I'm sick over it this plant was huge now it looks awful,it still has some flowers.

Foxy Lady:

I know exactly what happened.  We've had lots of rain and rain makes the blooms of petunias turn to mush.  All you need to do is pinch off those mushy flowers and it will send out new blossoms in a few days.  Petunias usually need a lot of water, but their flowers can't take the beating a heavy rain does to them.  Don't worry...it is not dying, just needs a little TLC to force new blooms

By the way, mine look the same

Foxy Lady: Once you nip the buds off it will bloom up again. If you can move it indoors or away from strong rain next time that will help. I have mine in a huge wooden wagon looking pot so it is hard to lug it around. but I will at least put it on the deck next big rain. Mine only just opened up last week too, but we still have the entire summer for em

Ms. Fox: or perhaps if You can't or don't want to move Yours You could put something over it to shelter and protect it when it rains? a translucent tarp held up with some kind of sticks or a trellis-like rig or something, maybe? something to serve as an instant and temporary greenhouse.

i'm sure if such a thing is commonly done, Ms. ajtgirl will be able to tell You about it...

Foxy Lady: Glad it's coming back to life! Mine did too. I have bright pink flowers on the one I have. I never imagined they would be so fragile. Course I haven't seen this much rain here in ages. We have had hard rain for 8 days with only half a day of sun in between. Can you say prune fingers? LOL
