Brian1971, pauloaguia: I put a post on the Stairs board about the same thing. I am sure Fencer could write a script that would automatically check all steps and send you a message of available challenges for you(maybe once a week). If you have not made any challenges(after another week) it could either drop you a step, start retiring you or remove from the stairs. It should only do this if there are players for you to challenge, if not leave you on the step you are on as it is not your fault.
Brian1971: And since bots seem to be in the order of the day, these days, why not build a script to do that automatcially. I seem to remember posting something along these lines a few months ago... Let me see if I can find it...
I do have a request for Fencer. Could you by some chance remove the inactive players from the stairs games. Some players havent played on site for months and some dont even participate in the stairs anymore. Also since in my opinion some of the stairs games are basically dead, we should either remove them or do some sort of promotional deal to give people reason to play them. I like the concept of stairs. It is a King of the Mountain type of attitude invlovement with them. I would like to see them competitive. Thanks.
"Have Fun": you have 3 vacation days planned for 2007 (i can see that when i look at your profile) .. those 3 days are already substracted from your total amount of vacation days
i am not sure if they are substracted from your total of this year though .. as the planned ones are for next year
try to remove a planned vacation day (from 2007) and check if you get a spare extra vacation day to use in 2006
Buz: Because your rating was higher then your opponent, then you *should* have won - so by your opponent getting a draw overall, he actually beat the odds and was able to gain a few points.
The ratings take into consideration current ratings of you & your opponent, plus how many games you and your opponent has played. The more games complete, the less of a rating change there will be. But yes, it is normal to have draws change your rating.
pauloaguia: yes but what was confusing me is that on that game i show as losing rating points but i won that game and lost the first so i was thinking i should not have lost points for winning but i believe they must wait till both games are finnished before the rating points are added or removed ?
Fencer: With the exception of that problem, all the other Paypal procedures for payment seem to be working fine. Thanks for dealing with it. We can only hope Paypal gets on it as quickly ;)
Foxy Lady: It's not my fault. Instead of "VERIFIED", PayPal has suddenly started to return "<!doctype HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">" as a confirmation code, without any warning. I can only report it to them.
Groucho: Ok, maybe this has been covered. Since I'm a black rook I can't take advantage of the brain bishop November deal. But I wonder if Black rooks can get some brains in exchange? ;) I could really use some brains.
Nice touch with PayPal. It's soooooo fast and so easy to use. And sponsoring is made easy. I love the bishop idea. Now if I can just find a few more pawns ;)
