When are the bugs or whatever going to be worked out again?? This is ridiculous.. I even have gotten used to Firefox.. but, anymore it is so sluggish here..

Note...I formated it to make it more readable and I replaced "<>" with "[]"" with "[]"

coan.net: Yes, there is another computer I can use (at work). It gives the same problem...

Other pages that redirect work fine. I'm at a loss. I would say it's the firewall at work, but the other brainking pages load fine.

Summertop: If there is another computer at your work, can you try that?

Why I say that is that it will narrow down if the problem is with your network (problem with all computers at work), or just your computer (if it works with other computers at work)

Other then that - I'm not sure. Sounds like it does what you want (like a post), but when the page then gives the browner the re-direct to another page - it stops there. My obvious question would be if there was any thing new loaded on the PC.

Well, more on the Blank Pages (DoLogin, DoMove, DoBoardPost)....
When I tried this at home, there was no issue. At work there still is...

I don't think the firewall is the culprit because all the other pages work fine. Even the Doxxxx pages work mostly, just don't redirect.

Host-tracker.com showed no problems.

I haven't seen this issue with any other web site.

Any other suggestions?

After the Speed & Site access problems a while back, i joined host-tracker.com , which was the site Fencer mentioned in his blog HERE

The last few days i have been having problem now, so when i can not access BrainKing, but can everywhere else, i ho there and run the test

Well, sure enough...the DoBoardPost page died...but the post made it.

Well...WHEN a page loads, it loads fairly quick. But I've noticed LOTS of times when it just seems to stop with a blank (white) page.
Every page that starts with "Do" stops on me...
DoLogin
DoMove

I've tried FireFox, IE, Safari, Opera...it seems to not be a browser problem. If I refresh, nothing. If I manually go to the Main page, my action completed (made a move, logged in, etc).

I sure hope this posts gets saved, as I bet it uses a DoSomething page.

FYI...This started yesterday for me. Later I will try this from a different network. Currently I am at work and my firewall might be blocking it (who knows why).

nodnarbo: I had the same problems earlier but now it is literally flying. Considering how much info loads on each page, the speed is rather impressive.

Bernice: USA too, I've had too many times in the last 24 hours or so where I just get a white screen for too long, so I've been giving up.

The site's been flying lately, this is pretty disappointing

well we have Canada, England, Australia, and where Alanback is....so it is our fault....LOL...there arent any czech ones complaining, so it cant be world wide ROFLMBO

Well at least it's not just ME experiencing this.. It is so laggy and slow to load anything for a few days, well since the latest update  I would think.
But you all know we will be told to stop griping about it, that is it our fault not the sites.

Anyone know why the site keeps stopping ?
I have had numerous messages asking me, but have not been here much last couple of days so could not comment.
Been here 30 mins now and spent 20 of them watching the 'waiting for brainking.com' message on my task bar
I know there is a problem as when i get back my friends on line list is empty just about, for a few more mins while people try and get back (in fact Who is online list is almost empty as well)

Is anybody having any trouble with Firefox at the moment, can only seem to access the web via Internet Explorer, if i try Firefox my desk top freezes.

Yep, I experienced the same thing recently when I traveled and tried to use the hotel connection..

ScarletRose: it is funny you should say this because I have friends that also want to access BK, but cant because of the connection to an outside gambling site. and that was about 4-6 months ago, also there are players on IYT that have said the same thing.

I was just reminded of a problem I ran into about a month ago when I was out of town. I tried accessing BK from the Hotel Lobby where I was staying. Their program they had on the puter would not let me access BK. When I did some research into that problem I found it was due to the references you had or a link you had to a gambling site. Although, your site is not a gambling site you may be missing out on possible members if they have similar programs with the settings as such.

Just something I had wanted to mention.

I would like to find out if there are any players (Members or one trying to join) who can not because they do not use PayPal or MoneyBookers.(or any other method they cant use lol)

I have at least 2 players who want to, but can not, and apparently they know of others (but i can not comment on that).

Should this not be looked into ??

Surely the only ones losing out are Fencer & Liquid, and therefore BrainKing

I get numerous people telling me reason they do not join, and even some from IYT why they will not play here. I posted a Feature Request about that (a simple colour choice of pieces), and nothing happened so again BrainKing loses out.

Should we not try to build this great site up ?????

Maybe coan.net or Tanein can create a Poll of ways best to pay, just a thought

alanback: true .. linux is casesensitive .. so you can have those 2 files there .. when you then download them to a windows system the second file will overwrite the first one

AbigailII:  Well, DOS is case insensitive, as is Windows with respect to filenames.  Obviously a case insensitive system would not permit you to create two different files named Foo and foo in the first place.

alanback: "Most applications"? I don't know any application that is case-insensitive with respect to filenames. I know *filesystems* that are, but not all file systems are case insenstive. Just image if you have files "Foo" and "foo", and your case insenstive application is told to do something with file "fOO". Which one will it take? "Foo"? "foo"? or will it create "f00"?

Fencer:  Any particular reason?  Most applications are case-insensitive with respect to filenames.  Although I guess server software is an exception, since I have to be careful about caps in the names of files I upload to my site.

Fencer, just checking, are out Fellowships icons case sensitive ? .gif is ok but .GIF is not

There is a very good word game on Facebook called "PathWords", you are against the clock and have to make as many words as you can, say within 3 minutes. At the start of the game, you are give a honeycomb type board with alln the letters, and you jsut have to make as many words as possible, ( i have jsut repeated myself there). You can play against as many people as you want. It is an excellent game, and i like it , becasue i am the top player there LOL.soooooooooooo any chance we could have it here lol

chenshap: Unrated players start with a BKR of 1300 and it is adjusted every time you finish a rated game, even if that isn t' shown until after you finish 4 games.

i couldnt get on for about 12 hours........but my opinion isnt warranted apparently......go to another site. LOL

In single-elimination tourneys, players are paired by BKR. How does it work for unrated players? We get assigned a random opponent?

Mousetrap: Its not Mouse, this time last night i was at work (as i am now) and for 6 hours at least i could not get on. Thats at least another 4 hours from now it was still down, but i went home then and did not bother to try when i got home so do not know when it came back, when Fencer got here i guess

nodnarbo: 24 hours? I did not realised it was over 24 hours since I tried to get on. Times flies when you are busy

coan.net & Mousetrap: the site was down for about an hour and a half or something, and then time-outs were suspended for 24 hours, so there was plenty of time given

Mousetrap: for me it went down 26 hours ago for at least 5 hours, however the message that shows up when there is a time out said that it was only down for one hour. Fencer did mention that that could happen

Mousetrap: I did not pay attention to the details, but time outs were off for awhile (not sure how long) after the site was down and came back up.

So yes, it was down - and it turned off the time-outs for awhile. (but I'm not sure of the time frame or how long it was down.)

Did Brainking go down for a while? If so what happend to the extra time alowed so we dont time time out? I have timed out in a few games because I could not access the site untill now. I am not worried about it I just wondered what had happend.
