BIG BAD WOLF, joshi tm: Small Froglet most definitely would be great
Any Ataxx or Assimilation variant would be good. With some random black squares(islands) would be fun that can not be controlled by anyone. Work your way around them
joshi tm: Speaking of Froglet - SMALL FROGLET - I rarely play Froglet anymore because it takes so long - a smaller board version would be a nice variant.
As for Ludo - I would like to see 2-dice version - that is you roll 2 dice every turn. You get our of "home" with either a 1 or a 6. And you then move pieces with the 2 dice your roll every turn. You can also split up the dice - so if you roll a 2,6 - you can move 1 piece 2 spaces, and move another piece 6 spaces.
BIG BAD WOLF: Oops ... I was too hasty and didn't think it through (I failed to realize some moves cannot be made because they're not connected to the border).
After some more thought I still think the first player has a "forced" win (10 moves???), but I have to study the game better.
Gordon Shumway: Sphere Line4 - interesting. So in Sphere, do you mean left-right AND top-bottom. That would be interesting. Still start placing pieces at the bottom, but now once the columns make it near the top, you have to be carefull with connecting to the bottom of the page to make a line.
Lets see - 10 games that I would like to see - My Wish List:
1. Yatzee type dice game 2. mastermind type codebreaker game 3. Double & Triple choice Backgammon ( Backgammon (BIG BAD WOLF, 2006-12-20 00:41:30) ) 4. Sphere Battleboats Plus (We need another battleboat game) 5. Another game which I made up 6. One of those Checker games some have been wanting. 7. One of those Chess games some have been wanting. 8. Ludo Variant - Ludo is very popular, so why not a variant of some sort. 9. A Word Game 10. A card game - like Texas Hold'em or Rummy
It looks like if a player has no rating, the rating becomes 0 (instead of 1300) for the Avarage BKR of a team in team tournaments. Is that true? (referring to http://brainking.com/nl/TeamTournaments?tri=70&trnst=10 Cloning Gammon Team tournament)
aaru: Painfully slow for some folks and fast as anything for others today.. My friend asked me earlier today if it was slow as she kept getting white pages and took ages to make one move.. I can get through my games faster than more days. We are in the same country. Seems it doesnt matter what part of the world some are in.. it is just slow for some and fast for others.. Mind boggling
Fencer: I vote for: Backgammon Cube 7 points Hyper Backgammon Ludo Dark Battleboats Cloned Backgammon Linetris (never played in teams) Spider Linetris (never played and more balanced than Spider Line4) Dark Chess (never played too and it´s not necessary a great level) AntiCheckers (easy and fast game) AntiReversi (interesting variant) Halma 10x10 (nice game) Tablut (very interesting) Portuguese-Spanish Checkers Atomic Chess (funny game) Knight Relay Chess (never played) and other 6 games more.
Foxy Lady: BBQ and swimming are definately on the cards with temps averaging 30-35degC each and every day LOL but we have had some rain making this the first wet season since 2000(as reported in our daily paper)...we badly need the water
All the gammons, halma 8x8 and howabout throwing in one of your promised new games for the fun of seeing how quick people get teams together. Actually dont know why I said that because Im back at work tomorrow, but it is an idea!
