Otsikko: Chamber
At last ... here comes the long awaited re-release of the long long deleted second album from Chamber ! Evocative titles, intellectually stimulating poetry, strong melodies, a feel for language, smooth clear voices and a polished professional sound characterise the work found on "Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales". Each track seems possessed with vigour, displaying certain nuances which work well in guiding the vocals amidst the energy of melodies and assured compositions. "Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales" delivers magnificent music for loneliness, invitation to reflection, breaking the shackles of convention with inspired and flourishing harmonies.

Otsikko: Rammstein
Back after a brief interlude of very nearly exactly one year - truimphant German Industrialists Rammstein return with Brand New album "Rosenrot". Originally planned as the lead single for 2004's "Reise Reise", this new album delivers 11 Brand New tracks ( with track 6 "Stirb Nicht Vor Mir ( Don't Die Before I Do )" featuring the velvet tones Sharleen Spiteri from British band Texas ). Sporting the artwork from the Japanese Edition of "Reise Reise", "Rosenrot" serves as the perfect companion to that album, establishing Rammstein as one of the totally unique, innovative ( and hard working ! ) acts in the music scene today.

Otsikko: The Young Gods
20 years since The Young Gods formed, you might have expected the rest of the industrial rock world to have caught up with them - yet this compilation renders most of the competition redundant. What's more, new track ''Secret'' is a blistering statement of intent, simultaneously returning to the dynamic rock sound of their late 80's material and proving that The Young Gods are further ahead than ever. In the mid-80s The Young Gods' line-up was vocals, sampler, and drums. Their self-titled first album was voted Album Of The Year by UK magazine Melody Maker in 1987 : a visceral, modernistic, machine -made opus of unquestionable genius. They went on to sample and cover everything from Gary Glitter to Shostakovich, while still sounding like only themselves. The 90's brought commercial success and the support of many of the industrial / Goth fraternity, while also having a decisive influence on a generation of rock bands - most notably Nine Inch Nails.

Otsikko: Blutengel
Each and every year, on the last night of the month October, the creatures of the night are celebrating their very own feast of darkness. On All Hallow's Eve, the undead rise from their graves to invite all witches, werewolves and other spawn from the dark side for a midnight dance ... and of course, Berlin's own lord of darkness, Chris Pohl, is the perfect man to provide a more than fitting soundtrack. Blutengel are back with a bang ... with a release ram-packed with dark hit tunes ! "The Oxidising Angel" shows Pohl and his singing graces at their best - a guaranteed floor filler, the title track stands as a perfect example as to how gothic electronic dance music should sound in the year 2005. Driving beats meet sinister but melodic electronica and atmospheric synthesizer pads. Pohl's characteristic dark vocal timbre delivers the addictive tune of the song with a lot of emotion, while his female counterparts take the listener to other worlds. Another highlight follows in the form of "Cry Little Sister", an intense electronic rendition of the title song to Eighties cult-vampire-flick, "The Lost Boys" - definitely one of the best cover versions to be released this year. The band manages to keep up the top-level -quality for the rest of the release, be it with the starkingly beautiful ballad, "A Little Love" - in which Pohl delivers one of his best vocal performances ever, or with the dark- disco-anthem, "Leave the Day", which brings out all of the best of the band's trademark sounds. With "The Oxidising Angel" Blutengel prove once more that they are one of the top acts within the dark electro scene ...

Otsikko: Fields of the Nephilim
With their first Brand New studio recordings in almost 15 years, The Fields Of The Nephilim truimphantly return with "Mourning Sun". This is instant classic Nephilim music ( no pseudo-hip experiments here ) : anything but an accidental stringing together of arbitrary songs it is a fascinating work of art, revealing encompassing complexity in its overall context. Their brand-new recording, "Mourning Sun" ( their first studio album since their legendary early '90's release "Elizium" ) is another haunting sonic journey which leads the listener into an uncharted world of mysteries and secrets that band mastermind Carl McCoy has been famous for in the past twenty years. "Mourning Sun" links spherical sonic images with driving rhythms, telling stories of a still uncharted future. "The lyrics of Mourning Sun are the words of today that give me a glimpse of tomorrow," explains McCoy, adding: "The whole thing is about looking forward as opposed to dwelling in the past".

To be able to fully concentrate on his ambitious work, McCoy retreated into total isolation, writing the album in a relatively short time. Based on the typical Nephilim sound, he worked on an evolution of his tried-and-tested stylistic devices and arrived at new artistic horizons. "Mourning Sun" is a progression of the previous Nephilim albums, from "Dawnrazor" through "Elizium" to "Zoon" he points out, "no comparison, only progression." He expresses himself in a total of seven epic numbers that live off their breathtaking density and haunting atmospheres. Tracks such as "Shroud ( Exordium )", "Requiem XIII-33 ( Le Veilleur Silencieux )" or the title track "Mourning Sun" ( with over 10 minutes playing time ) all stand in their own right, while at the same time complementing each other, blending into a complex whole. McCoy : "Every track has to be listened to in the context of the album."

Otsikko: LEAETHER STRIP
YES - it is official. The apocalyptic return of LEAETHER STRIP is here ! Claus Larsen is poised to launch his "Suicide Bombers" EP on the planet this October 2005 and he returns stronger than ever with an arsenal reloaded to the maximum for the ultimate dark industrial warfare all fans have been dreaming of. With countless albums under his belt, Claus Larsen has explored through his career various music styles within the electronic genre ranging from harsh aggressive EBM with distorted vocals to melodic dark synth pop, through more introspective bombastic symphonic orchestrations. This new EP gathers a bit of all these ingredients wrapped by Claus Larsen's unique genius and is no doubt the best present he could be offering to fans of strong electronic music with depth and edge !

Title track "Suicide Bombers" ( also available in a mind-blowing extended version reminding us of the good old days when 12" releases ruled the scene ) is no doubt one of the most powerful harsh EBM tracks ever written by Leaether Strip. Openly condemning suicide terror attacks, the EP continues to explore more political assaults with " Shame Of A Nation" which features a compelling song structure ultimately reaching an amazing climax in the second part of the song... "This Is Where I Want To Be" and "Death Is Walking Next To Me" are what we would call "classic Leaether Strip" tunes that showcase Claus Larsen's trademark characteristics : a punishing rhythmic pace and aggressive electronic style with distorted vocals. With "Til Far" the EP takes a darker and more symphonic turn before the aptly titled "Reborn" plunges us back into the powerful dark realms of Leaether Strip's rebirth. A sublime 7-track release that reminds us why LEAETHER STRIP has reached such a cult status on the electro / industrial scene, and has throughout the years recurrently been acknowledged by many artists as one of their biggest influences.

Leaether Strip has been copied by many over the years, but the new EP and forthcoming album will prove to you that Leaether Strip is the real deal when it comes to dark electro industrial music.

Otsikko: Apoptygma Berzerk
Finally returning after a ( too long ) break of over three years, Norwegian electronic pioneers Apoptygma Berzerk are back with their Brand New album "You And Me Against The World". Their first release of new material since 2002's "Harmonizer" album propelled them to the forefront of the emerging future-pop scene - APB transcend genre bounderies with their infectious blend of catchy trance infused electronics, rousing choruses and compelling club arrangements. Constantly updating their sound, new album "You And Me Against The World" sees APB mastermind Stephan Groth returning with a new, refreshed vigour and an invigorated sonic palette, welcoming former APB guitarist Anders Odden back into the fold to add a rockier, more bombastic edge to their overall sound. Still firmly electronic ( as witnessed on first single "In This Together" ) "You And Me..." is a seamless blend of huge synth arrangements and cool guitar riffs with Groths voice sounding better than ever - add to this neatly inserted elements of APB patented EBM, Electro, Trance and Dancefloor manouvers for a welcome return from one of the giants of the scene.

Otsikko: Anthony Rother - for fans of Kraftwerk
Recorded live at the Fuse Club, Belgium in 2003 ''Live Is Life Is Love'' sees Anthony Rother unleashing his precise techno / robotic electro across 12 stunning tracks. Dispensing with the traditional teutonic electronics of ''Magic Diner'' - this is futuristic, melodic, rhythmic techno-electro infused with aching vocoder vocal parts, clinical beats, infectious sequencers and layers of melodic synth work. For fans of cyclic, complex rhythmic structures, driving arrangments, melody and ( of course ) Kraftwerk, ''Live Is Life Is Love'' comes very recommended...

Otsikko: God Module
October 2005 sees the eagerly anticipated third full length release from US dark electro duo God Module : ''Viscera'' delivers what is easily their most brutal sonic-assault to date - with tracks ranging from relentlessly aggressive dance floor assaults, analogue synth melodies and pumping, eighties-style sequencers to violently beautiful mid tempo laments. Also included on ''Viscera'' is a nostalgic reflection of God Module's youth in the shape an extraordinary cover version of The Cure classic ''A Night Like This,'' torn apart from it's original state and brutally reconstructed as a God Module dance floor anthem. ''Viscera'' further cements God Module's supremecy amongst the top acts within the dark-electro dance scene.

Bob Moog, inventor of the immensely popular Moog synthesizer has died yesterday at the age of 71 in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. Bob was diagnosed with brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme or GBM) in late April 2005. He had received both radiation treatment and chemotherapy to help combat the disease. He is survived by his wife, Ileana, his five children, Laura Moog Lanier, Matthew Moog, Michelle Moog-Koussa, Renee Moog, and Miranda Richmond; and the mother of his children, Shirleigh Moog. Robert A. Moog, born May 23, 1934 was a pioneer of electronic music. The Moog synthesizer was one of the first widely used electronic musical instruments. Early developmental work on the components of the synthesizer occured at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, now the Computer Music Center. Moog created the first modern, realtime playable and reconfigurable music synthesizer in 1963, it sometimes took hours to set up the machine for a new sound. Unlike the few other 1960s synthesizer manufacturers, Moog shipped a piano-style keyboard as the standard user interface to his synthesizers. The Minimoog became the most popular monophonic synthesizer of the 1970s, selling approximately 13,000 units between 1971 and 1982. Musicians that have used Moog equipment include Depeche Mode, Genesis, U2, The Police, and many others. The first record to feature a Moog synthesizer was "Cosmic Sounds" by The Zodiac. Popularity for the Moogs surged in the 1970s then declined in the 1980s as digital synthesizers gained traction in the market. By the mid-1990s, analog synthesizers were again highly sought after and prized for their classic sound. As of 2004, more than 15 companies are making Moog-style synthesizer modules. The Bob Moog Foundation has been created as a memorial, with the aim of continuing his life's work of developing electronic music.

Otsikko: A blue ocean dream
New A Different Drum signings A Blue Ocean Dream play melodic, analog-driven synthpop, pulling influences from the pioneering sounds of Kraftwerk, but adding vocal depth and a modern production touch. Their debut album "On the Road to Wisdom" presents heavy-set analogue synthesizers mixing with catchy electronic hooks and classic Swedish flavoured electro-pop. Reminiscent of contemporary acts such as Fischerspooner and The Hacker, but with a depth and maturity to the classic song-writing and arrangements.

The long-awaited and much overdue 5th regular studio album from Neuroactive is finally released at the end of August ! Neuroactive look back on a number of highly infectious and successful albums and singles on Cyberware, Out Of Line and A Different Drum and have been in existence for more than a decade, delivering finest Electro / Synthpop of the highest level ! This is a band that has transformed and experimented throughout the last decade, touching fans from the industrial dance scene to the synthpop scene, trying different vocal styles, but maintaining a punchy, signature sound with crisp, electronic programming. The all new album "N-Gin" continues that trend of exploration and metamorphosis, presenting several songs with different vocalists, along with some incredible instrumental tracks. This is a ground-breaking album for Neuroactive, building on all the sounds of the band's past, but pushing to a new level for the future. "N-Gin" is the first new album for Neuroactive since their critically acclaimed album "Transients", released in 2001, and expectations for this new album are very high. At last, Regenerator resurfaces with their anticipated 7th full-length CD. Entitled "Disease", the 13-track album expresses the band's concern for animal-rights and the environment focusing sharply on animal consumption and its affect on human health through the band's electronic trademark. Having listened to the unmastered album, I can already tell you that the title track will for sure please all fans of the good old The Cure late 80's era. Also included is the sombre video for "Terrible Love" and the old classic cover of "Don't Fear The Reaper". The limited edition of the album is packaged in a special DVD box, with exclusive artwork and bonus 12-track remixed album by bands like Steril, XP8, Neikka RPM, Y Luk-O, Winterstahl, Digital factor and others.

baddessi: Most of this projects are non-comercial. They are not promoted and difficult to find. You can hear only in some specialized clubs.

This last project, In the Nursery, gave to amazing shows in Lisbon, one of them 10 years ago. They have a fab female singer from Goa. Their music moves from the neoclassical to the industrial scene. If you like Michael Nyman and Phillip Glass, you will like this project. Highly recommended... :)

Otsikko: In the Nursery
The sixth title in ITN's acclaimed Optical Music Series, "Electric Edwardians" features 31 pieces of music specially composed for films from the Mitchell & Kenyon Collection, bringing to life the bustling streets of Edwardian Britain, capturing in vivid detail the everyday lives of ordinary people at work and play. Supremely evocative of a bygone era its combination of beautiful and heartfelt music is both emotive and poignant without sentimentalising the material or ignoring the rich musical tradition of the Edwardian period.
