Tuesday: Bob Inglis was my congressman for 12 years & pretty far to the right himself. If he is critical of Beck & Co., there must be something to it. Its not the 1st time he had done that. He lost to a Tea Party clone candidate.
Ferris Bueller: He lost with a whopping 71%-29% margin. That's a serious defeat. Don't over simplify his defeat. Palin and Beck are NOT that strong. It's a lame excuse to blame them. Inglis deviated from conservative principles and many conservatives and independents are sick of it. It should serve as a warning to those in the Republican party and a reminder of whose interests they are to represent. Interesting that he immediately ran to the liberal press who eagerly took on his complain.
In the past, Inglis carried a good record with conservatives. But they began to question his conservative leanings and many began to see him as a liberal in a conservative coat. Apparently Inglis didn't understand that you don't insult your base if you want to be reelected. That's how politics work.
How come I never read you liberals complain about the Democratic dirty politics in Illinois? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Is it NOT ironic that you liberals here are all over yourselves defending a Republican? That is too funny.
Inglis isn't the only incumbent that needs to watch out. As many of you liberals have pointed out, many Republican leaders have simply sold out their party. Inglis was one of them. Those in the congress don't get to decide the will of the people. Inglis never learned this important truth. The people decide their own will. At least the conservative thinkers do. Most Democrats let their leaders do their thinking.
Obama is getting to be more unpopular than Bush. How can you explain that? And what's this with so many liberals talking about "buyers remorse" when it comes to Obama?
Conservatism is on the rise and there will be many casualties. Most will be liberals. But some lazy conservatives will find they are out of jobs soon.
