Nothingness: I dont think so. The only way round it to to pay that litle bit extra for a Rook Membership - that way you have no restrictions.

I understand some people may be unable to stretch that little bit further for a Rook Membership - alternatively I would suggest only enter tournaments with a 1 day time limit?

im certain that this has been asked before. But why do you have to wait for all tourney games to be completed before a next round can be started? Especially if those games are between players who have no chance of advancing to the next round? This only holds up the tourney and prevents entry into other tourneys. Also Many players in a few tourneys arent finished any games yet whereas other have been waiting for a few months. it is feesable that you could wait years before ever entering a tourney type again even with a membership, waiting for players to finish up their games. Ive been waiting for one player to complete games since i joined a few months ago, i won the round very quick. Adn have gotten multiple request to join specific tourneys. but am unalbe to until my tourney has ended. Is there any way around this?

Purple: thanks- yes, that would be cheating. Proving that would be kind of difficult tho.

I personally don't think comments made in a game should affect the outcome of who wins the prize. It should be based on the skill of the player, no matter what they have to say. I just ignore them too, and for me, amyways, when I beat someone who's trying to give me a hard time, well the victory is all that much sweeter : )
But it's easy for me to play without letting what someone says to me affect how I play.

THE HIT MAN: right, now we understand what you mean by "Bad Conduct".

My opinion - I would just ignore them. They have as much right to play in the tournament as anyone else. However, if the comments are much more are rude, threatening and very personal etc, then I suppose it should be brought to the attention of Fencer privately either directly or through the GM's.

Just my opinion.

Jules: None that I know of really. I just wasn't sure what he meant about "bad conduct"
If it's acceptable to win using programs and that isn't ruled out in the tournament to begin with, then I would think that any wins would be acceptable.
I just meant if there was some way to prove someone actually cheated in some other way, that would disqualify them from a prize. Otherwise, then if they win the games, the prize should be given.
I guess what I'm trying to say is a prize shouldn't be determined by a person's words or any personality conflicts. That if they win, they should get the prize.

baddessi: By Cheater do you mean someone who uses a program or device in order to decide their moves? If so, there are a number who have admitted to using programs in regular games, yet their ratings will already be high. The only way of detecting I know of if someone suddenly changes form in a significant fashion if they have an existing rating.

Is their other ways?

THE HIT MAN: I think that if a prize is offered for a tournament, then the winner of the games of that tournament should win the prize.
But, I agree with Bry, it depends on what you mean by "bad conduct"
If it can be proved the person cheated to win, then they shouldn't win the prize. If you mean that they used words in a game that someone personally doesn't like, then that should have no bearing on whether they win the prize or not. The win should be based on the games won. Just my opinion.

It depends what the "Bad Conduct" is.

What are your feelings on BAD CONDUCT While playing in said TOURNAMENTS where PRIZES are offered or on TOURMAMENT BOARD.Should a PLAYER be removed from winning that prize offered. Not the tournament just the PRIZE

Yes, if the round is only 1 section, the tie is not broken. If an advanced round is created with just 2 people, it is a 3 win match. And if an advanced round is created with 3 or more people, it is a regular round.

THE HIT MAN: not 100% sure, but i think if only 2 players make it to the final round, it is a 3 wins match. if more than 2 players make it to the final round, more than one player can win, and if there is a draw, they both win and those two do not then go into a 3 match game.

I recall this being discussed on BK.Com I think if you check through the thread.

If i'm wrong, please can someone else confirm. Cheers.

EdTrice: Thanks, Ed. Feel free to correct any of my mistakes by PM. Of course, except obvious typos But beware, don't even try to write in my native language So far it's enough for me when I am able to write quite fast and most people don't have problems with understanding me. BTW, why "an" FYI? "F" doesnt look like a vowel for me, so I would expect "a". To be honest I didn't know abbreviations use articles ("a, an, the") Though sure OT again, may be there is some language purists board also

Discussing, questioning, and personal opinions on topics related to tournaments, I have no problems with. When the posts contain name calling and are personally attacking individuals it becomes off topic and they don't belong on the public boards, at least in my opinion.

We all have problems of some kind.I have installed 4 new windows in my computer to keep all my games active. You have been a memeber here for a year and half.By what is said on your profile and your record. You seem to like winning more then losing.

I have no idea whatsoever why are you saying this.

I will not stand by and let ppl like this drag on games and prolong games for everone else in any of my Tournaments

People like this? Wake up, man!!! With this attitude, you're not going to gather many people for your other tourney...how many of us did you actually remove? I guess it must be some number, cuz if you removed me...

My tournaments are held to have fun and enjoy for the average Player

So I take it I'm not average enough...thanks, what a compliment...

HIT MAN: Once again, the cure is simple. Make 1 day per move tournaments and noone can prolong them that much. Really simple and elegant solution.
