Sujet: Discussion Boards
And I'd love to see one entitled:

"Politics & Religion"

On Goldtoken they have a Religion board, etc., and discussions are carried on quite civilly, even amidst vast differences of opinion.

I would like to ask for a discussion board named 'languages' on which people will be able to ask questions or just talk about different languages. For language curiouses such as myself, it'll be a very nice and profitable board. Now that we have BK in many languages, people might want to learn a bit of one, or just solve their problems with understanding something.

Thank you

it would be great if one could see at the fellowship page which members of this fellowship are online.

That's enough. Back on topic please. This is a board for requesting features, NOT for discussing moderation, nor moderators. Thank you.

Why is the "last action" time not cloaked????? It would make a huge difference in pond runs if it were!

Sujet: Info on main page
The following information is displayed on main page: "Total number of your started games: 22 (10 running tournaments)".

It would be nice if additionally it would also have a link to my 'open' tournaments, like "... (10 running and 1 open tournaments)". Actually I usually more interesting about upcoming tournaments (to avoid having to play too much games if I sign to too much tournaments).

During the week I am on my computer atleast once every day but come the weekend if I am not supper busy I may spend an entire day out.

If you have a problem with people taking weekends off and using up vacation days create tournaments and games without vacation days or weekends only.

Preferable if just a single button but a seperate category with them grouped together is almost just as good. This feature would be especially usefull for crazy people like you that play several thousand moves a day. Might help you move up from 32 place in the most finished games catagory.

One thing I've noticed... People come and go around here... And sometimes they go while still belonging to Stairs. Folks gone for months at a time, maybe never coming back... Challenge them to a stairs match, and you are guarenteed a win. They can't deny the game, it starts automatically... Just wait till it times out, and you got a win. Shouldn't there be some automatic time out to boot you off stairs for that reason? ...just a thought.

At one time, Fencer talked about a limit of 5 days for auto-vacation days to be taken (IN A ROW), and most seemed to like that idea - I'm not sure if that is still a planned feature or not.

That way if people need to take a vacation, they can schedule them for however long they need - but if an emergency comes up, the 5 days of auto-vacation (and 2 weekend days) should give someone up to a week to hopefully recover from the emergency to get on-line.

edited to add "in a row"

grenv: I think autovacation is useful. For example last night we had network outage. Due to that I lost 4 or 5 games by timeout (but my fault, I play too slow and often leave my moves until last moment). But if I were paid member in that time, I would be protected and not time out. I think that benefit should remain.

Stopping players from entering a tournament based on the number of games they have going on is not a good idea. Some players have a 1000 or more games going but move relatively quickly. And this player does not have an extraordinary number of games. I think a better idea would be saying you can only take 10 vacation days or something during one game.

Sujet: Re: Autovacation
grenv: I think autovacation is a nice feature and should be kept. Slow playing people is a problem (if any) only in tournaments, not in individual games.

May be a new option for tournament creation is needed, like "Only for players with less then X ongoing games". Then the player with more ongoing games can't sign up for this tournament.

Sujet: Feature requests
Byt back to feature requests. I just out of curiosity looked at all my posts here (show this user posts). There might be some useful feature requests which remained possibly unnoticed and some new possible ones.

From old ones: colors when defining New game are white, black. what about "random"?

New ones:
The thread thingy is handy, what about "hide thread" (way of moderation) with some possibility with "show all threads" to turn it back on.

Then, what about some way to see messages on hide by board moderator let's say at own risk by pushing some "I agree" button? Because it often happens and I think not only to me that some interesting thread is hidden or removed by board moderator, despite it's interesting for some people at least in reading mode, it can be without "reply" possibility. OK, I will stop here for today.

grenv: Yes, it went down and back up after renewal and by coincidence is at 15 again. Timing out yesterday means no decrease because of weekend, in 4 hours it will be 14. Period.

Yes, someone could lower to almost nothing and then renew to get vacation days back, but grenv did not believe it dropped at all.

Sujet: Re: Autovacation
BIG BAD WOLF: I think in this particular case there wasn't any bug. The thing is the opponent prolonged his membership and therefore his vacation days counter was reset to the corresponding value. While some might think it's not OK that someone gets another pack of vacation days after he uses some in previous membership cycle, I think the opposite. And it's a nice motivation for membership purchase aswell.

grenv: You might want to send a PM to Fencer, let him know the game ID and such. There was once a "bug" which let people take advantage of the vacation system and not lose days. I thought it was fixed, but maybe there is some other bug Fencer does not know about (or it wasn't fixed).

Anyway, let Fencer know which games they are and I'm sure he could take a closer look at them....

If not atleast having them grouped together allows games to play faster as hopefully everyone will play all those games first. Would also be nice if all the games that have only 1 possible move were grouped in with them but this may be pushing it.
