here is a 2 game match, where I was up 1 game to 0, then my opponent accepted a draw, to make it 1.5 games to .5 games, but I won the 2 game match anyway????? Is this a bug? Cloning Backgammon (kid_game_2001 vs. Czuch Czuckers)
danheg: Thanks, but its 21 points per game, and 9 day moves, i know somepeole it would take a month just to do it the way you say, then they wont believe me, and If I change my mind after all this?
At least, shouldnt there be some way to resign the games in one turn each? As it is cirrently, I only lose 3 points to resign a game. At that rate it can take me a couple of months just to resign my way out of the tournament!
Argomento: Re: Tournaments break the statistic too
joshi tm: I signed up for this 21 point per game tournament when the rules allowed for the potential to get 21 or more points in one game. Once the rules of this game changed, the tournament should have been deleted and the started over. Its not fair when the parameters of the game change after someone signs up for it!
I want to get out of this tournament without losing my BKR for this game. Please fencer help me!?!?!?!?!
furbster: It looks that way now, but both accounts definitely overlapped for a long period of time! Maybe playing one one account when experimenting on a game or whatever, and on another one to play for serious ratings????
Well, I have done some of my own research, and indeed it looks like Reza had two accounts going at the same time! Both used for playing games, as well as other activities.... I have noticed for example that his "expired" profile has a ponds rating of 2193, not very high as far as pond ratings go, yet his now active pond rating is at 2444, high enough to place him at 14th in the rankings!
It is disconcerting to say the least, and leads us to wonder if other people are pulling the same type of "scam"?
The messages I have from Reza in my inbox all have his name changed to "expired", and the profile for this user says it is him, but that he will not use that one after his games are finished. Yet he still has his "other" king reza profile as well??? Can anyone explain to me what happened, or what is going on? Did he have two king reza accounts at the same time? I know some people have been allowed to have other accounts, but those were not used for game playing purposes!
mybirthdaysoon: Thanks, it was that it only shows the games in the year they are completed, and since it is a new year, none of their finished games are in 2007! I got it now!
To look at someones finished games.... just click on their profile and click on the link for finished games then the link for the specific game you want to see??? I try it like this and I dont get a list of their games??? What am I doing wrong?
Jason: That does help... but in this case, i think it was because I am on their enemies list, but they are on my friends list, so i could see them there, but nowhere else.
I guess if someone has me on their enemies list, they cannot see me anywhere as well? i wonder, can they view my profile?, or my interviews etc????
"Snoopy": i GUESS NOT! bUT i CAN STILL SEE THEM ON MY FRIENDS LIST! bUT THAT IS IT!Plus they somehow had me removed from their friends list, until I just put them back on it today!????
BIG BAD WOLF: Um.... Started games and running games are different. I was thinking how many games have been started, of a particular type, in a certain amount of time, for example one month, to find the most popular? Running games doesnt do it, since there are many running games started many months ago etc.... I think that if game A has 100 games started in the past 30 days, and Game B has 50 started games in the past month, then game A would be the more popular.
BIG BAD WOLF: One down side to determining the popularity of a game based on "completed games" Is that, unlike hypergammon, some games take many, many moves to complete a game.... maybe just use "started games" as a way to determine the most popular?
Argomento: Autosave feature on the Notepad page. It can be useful if you write a long note to your notepad and the network connection suddenly dies out.
... or if you spends hours thoughtfully answering questions, only to have your computer freeze up only moments before using the update option!
King Reza: LOL, I had it all done, and went to save it and my computer froze up and all was lost! I havent been in the right frame of mind to try it again yet, but soon, sorry!
BrainKing is going to launch this new game variant (I post this in permission to Fencer). (If you don't believe, ask Fencer:)).
Cloning Gammon: (Players think twice before capturing a piece)
Standard Backgammon (Cube can be used). There are no Gammons or Backgammons. Each time you hit an opponent's checker, you MAY add one extra checker of your color to your bar, marked with an X.(the destination place for your captured checkers). If no cube is used, you MUST add one piece to the bar. These extra pieces count as Race pieces, so you can bring them in anytime you want. You can move freely with the extra checkers.(they will keep their markers as long as any of your normal (non-marked) pieces is still not in your home area, see next section)
The maximum number of extra checkers is 5.
Scoring: You must have only your 15 normal (non marked) pieces in your home area your bear them out. You are still allowed to move marked (cloned) pieces, but, if you do, the piece will lose its marker and you must also put this piece in your home area. If no cube is used, you must put all pieces in your home area first.
If there is no cube, the winner is that player who bears all his or her pieces off, of course.
When the cube is used, each piece after the 15th you bear off, will score you a point (duplicated with the number on the doubling cube). If any player bears his last piece off out his or her home area (regardless of other (marked) pieces on the board), the game ends and that player also gets one point not multiplied by the cube.
Maybe there are still bugs in it. If you have suggestions, message me or Fencer. Reply (box)
