yeah, I recently tried my first game of espionage, and it is not possible with webtv :(

Not being able to see some of the smaller, more detailed pieces very clearly (the frogs, and the espionage pieces) is not really related to webtv itself, but the fact that a television screen has a much lower resolution than a computer monitor.
At least froglet is still playable. I find Espionage to be completely unplayable on a TV. :-(

yeah, I just had a problem with the mail link beside my friends was just a big empty box, but the link still worked. I think there is some sort of graphic loading problem going on, as I had lots of problems yesterday too. But the color thing is not a problem here :)

interesting. then i wonder why its appearance seems to be so isolated.

About a week ago or so, Fencer moved most graphics to it's own server, or to a different part of the server, or something (moved it so they would load faster) - Anyway, I think the problem is with the image server where it's not loading all the graphics correctly all the time. I'm sure once Fencer/Liquid check it out that will be back to normal.

well, i know it's not pleasant to hear it, but if nobody else is experiencing the problem, it's not likely to be an issue with the site.

if you're using webtv, i'd be suspicious of that. i know imupchucking isn't having the problem, so maybe it has to do with the model or age of your tv or something...but i've recently become friends with a webtv user and She says the frogs in Froglet look like little tied bags - they don't have any faces - and She can hardly tell one piece from another in Espionage, and She can't get to 80 percent of the websites i send Her the URLs to because webtv just can't handle them...so i get the impression the whole webtv system is just very horky and ill-behaved and it just up and does stuff like you're describing sometimes.

don't know for sure, but it's a thought...

i too think they're working on the graphics...

but i still don't know why keeshound4's seeing a color change the rest of us don't seem to be seeing. but whatever the reason, kees, i'd recommend following Viking's advice and going to your settings page and changing the background color.

A no go with my settings....they are already on a white background. Still some of the discussion boards are shown on a white background and others are not.....still that darn charcoal grey which is fine for suits!

nothing on my settings has been changed since I got here and that wasn't yesterday!

I think they are working on the graphics..

All my other sites are fine including a terrific TV picture when I care to watch. All the colors are where they are suppose to be!!!

plantiger, a few people now have golden rooks... See the "Paid Membership" page for details.. I think they have been around about a week, or maybe 2... Last I checked, 6 people had them..

My eyesight isn't 20/20 as it used to be. Now you need it even better than that to see this site!

yeah, i don't see any color change either, except the membership icons - i've seen a yellow brain rook tonight. and my Amazons pieces aren't loading, which i suspect (but don't know) to be related. but everything else looks the same as it has for months or maybe even years (i don't remember what the site looked like years ago).

I am webtv and everything is fine tonight, but I was having lots of 'loading' type prblems last nite...

There has been no color change, but thats a nice idea... If you are not blind, why the capitols?

What in the world were you thinking of....a Charcoal gray page, with blue lettering and a blurred red for notices submitted to discussion boards? When are you going to invent new glasses to read all of this against a "NICE" backdrop??????

A checker player just complained of the same red X's. Has to be an internal problem.

i'm having the same problem, Lady T. - but because i'm on a Mac i get blue squares with white question marks in them. however, the graphics for what kind of membership a person has - like brain rook or brain knight or whatever - which weren't loading for me earlier are loading now (and the rook i just saw is yellow instead of white)...all of which leads me to suspect that Fencer is just busy sprucing up the graphics and those that have disappeared will be back and even schnazzier-lookin' than ever.

bwildman, as far as I know that isn't possible. Either a moderator did it or Fencer, theres no other way.

Yeah I know its the maximum, just wondered why its 2700, is there a reason behind that figure. I want to carry on up to 3000! :-(

in other words...if the moderators nr Fencer unbanned them...how could they become unbanned?

I would like to play in Remembering Jestone tournament but can't. I am playing in another tournament but although I have lost and last moved ages ago the tournament is still running. I can't play another one until it is finished....unless, Fencer can release me from it as a special tribute to my old friend Jestone.
