Never mind, I see how to change the random setup.

I disagree. I just checked the random position for screen chess and saw the king on d4. Not only would I never want to use that position, if my opponent had the same position the kings would start adjacent to each other. Is that allowed? And how do I get to see a different random position?

If someone times out in a chess game in which the opponent only has a king left, is that recorded as a loss or a draw for him/her?

Of course a tournament is set to the pace of the slowest player. Everyone has to finish their games for the tournament to be completed. By signing up for a tournament, you agree to wait for the other players in it.

Games will not time out. Nothing stops players from using that to delay games, so such is allowed. I am not sure that this board is a suitable place for your personal complaints against Kevin.

If game time is suspended, that means that no one is required to move. If you don't like how quickly someone moves, then don't play them again. What more needs to be said?

Argomento: US Chess Federation Formula
Modified beyond recognition. Try this link, if it works: US Chess Federation Formula

Brian1971: If this site really used the US Chess Federation formula, my rating would always be raised by less than 16 points for winning against a lower rated player.

"...Impossible to compare..." Not if I knew the rating formula.

While we are discussing ratings, consider this:
From: Jokl
Date and time: 1. July 2004, 07:47:16
Subject: Your opponent resigned the game (Chess) (show game)

You are the winner.

BuilderQ: old BKR = 1886, new BKR = 1910 (+24)
Jokl: old BKR = 1840, new BKR = 1813 (-27)

Game type: Chess

Why did I get less than my opponent lost, especially seeing as I had played LESS chess games in total?

Has anyone else looked in the message box while on Guest Mode? There are a few messages there, none of which can be deleted.

I'll try that link again.

Oops, that link didn't work, nor did it even show up the way I wrote it.

ughaibu: the results of many matches are incorrectly recorded. Look at <A HRefhttp://brainking.com/game/Profile?u=9275&eg=16>this page; I have never really lost at spider line4.

Argomento: Poll
What does the current opinion poll, "When?", mean? When what? The end of the world? And why is it open if its deadline is June 10th?

Argomento: Bug
All archived games are listed as having one more move then they actually had. See how on my game list line4 games are listed as having 33 moves, which is impossible.
