It would be nice to be able to create/join a tournament where vacations arent allowed.
But now that I think about it more, many tournaments take a year or more to finish, and it wouldnt be right to go a whole year or more, only to lose to a time out because they are going on vacation.
I can see if someone does have an emergency, that it probably wouldnt be a big deal if they were to lose by a time out, cause they would probably not care too much about losing a game as they would be busy tending to what ever the emergency was...
But not a big worry anyway, as someone with 600 games who purposly/ unable to move before time out, will run out of their vacation time pretty quickly anyway.
It isbetter than nothing.... not sure if it is enough to get someone to sign up that wouldnt anyway, but it will be a quick influx of money just in time for Fencer to buy new hardware as a christmas present for us all :)
Argomento: Christmas Special! Everybody who pays for any kind of membership (or extends the current one) and makes it to the end of this year (2004),
What does it mean, to make it to the end of the year? Not get banned? Or renew their membership through the end of the year? Its early, so my brain is having trouble understanding.....
Did this site just melt down for a little while, or was it just me?
Everytime I clicked on a link, the page would just 'blink' and come back to where I was. Then I couldn't even get back on for awhile. Seems ok for now :)
Yes, the fellowship is listed, but the board only has a link if there is a new message. Sometimes I want to post to a fellowship board when there is no new messages, and in that case there is no direct link to the board from our main page.
It seems that being "off topic" and "personal attack" are good reasons to delete a post. But they are not applied evenly to all posters.
I suggest a safe way to use discretion when moderating, and not come accross like a hypocrit, is to simply say that you are removing a post due to your discretion, and quit using the PC friendly "off topic" etc, cause once you post that as a reason for one removal, it technically must apply to all. So sad :(
Are the moderators of these public boards the same as a big boss, where you make all the decisions? I thought Fencer was responsible for adding or removing moderators?
What the heck did I say that was political???
She said it would be nice to see democracy here again.... I simply asked when it was a democracy before. Nothing to do with politics, Geez whiz...
Thats true Harley. It was a misunderstanding. Bernices post smacked of sarcasm to me.... and I have seen her use it before.
I dont know where Whisper got the wild hair.... but I would appreciate it if you would stay off my back, I have never said anything to you or about you.
Ellie, if you would look, I was the first person to congratulate Kevin, and wish him luck.
Solus... way off topic. Why dont you buy a membership, so you can join a fellowship to spew your liberalism, instead of spamming the public boards? Too bad you cant vote, Kerry could use the support.
I dont know why you would be sarcastic Bernice... I suppose you are not capable? I think if you read your post, but imagine I had written it about you, for example, I would have been ripped apart for pointing out your short fall....
I think it was an 11 game match wasnt it?
Whisperz... what the heck makes you feel like you had to put your 2 cents in???? And what is that suposed to mean anyway?
If they are truely of the site, for whatever reason, then they should get the full benefit of their vacation and weekend/holiday time. But, if they are logged on at anytime, auto vacations should not be implimented.
One problem I see is that BKR is calculated in part based on how many games have been played. If I start a game with you which lasts a year, and you finish 50 other games during that time, it wouldnt be fair anymore for my bkr to be calculated like you have played only one game.
Lets say it is the first game of that type for both players when the game begins. You calculate what the bkr would be if the game ended as their only completed games, then be added/subtracted from whatever their BkR really is at the end of the game.
Your rating should change based on what your opponents rating was at the begining of your game. Then be added (or subtracted) from what your rating currently is....
You could always not play with people without ratings or with established ratings only. Or play faster games. Besides, the bkr is over rated, and often misleading anyway, and it doesnt really matter, since the object is to have fun, isnt it?
I vote make it what ever it is when the game starts.
I too would like to have back the option to add them to favorites list. Often I want to post a new message to a board where there are no new messages, and like LJ said, I have to go to the fellowship firts to get to the DB.
P... you must have added Purple world to your favorites before the bk2 switch? and just dont remember?
