Do you have to pay to get rank?... I played a game and my opponet who was also a Brain Pawn lost and they are like 1090 now or something and mine still says unrated.
rabbitoid: Leave that 21-point cloning backgammon match to me in your will! I'll carry on. My longest cloning game so far is a 228-mover. Is your match using a doubling cube, at least?
aaru: I have a better record: a couple of clowning backgammon (sorry) against the site's champion turtle, 86 moves in all, match started 15. January 2007, we're in the 2nd game. It's a 21 point match. I expect to die of old age before it's through.
Monsieur FENCER.
Hmm, what's wrong with Fencer making a something extra on the side with a little advertising if it serves to keep membership fees from rising? since even pawns can disable that part (eh... I think), who cares?
Fencer Said: "Tip of the day" does not mean "Tip of the day related to BrainKing only". What? Are you serious?
Yes, its your site, but... 1. How many of you members enable "Tip of the day" hoping to get some cool insight into BK? 2. How many of you enable it hoping to get yet another advertisement? 3. How many of you enable it hoping to get some random tip for another web site?
OK, I have to admit, I had already disabled it. But, if I had it enabled and started getting advertisements, I would immediately disable it.
Hmmm, I wonder if I am going to get in trouble for my comments...
ghingher: Tip of the day #32.If you find yourself in need of refreshment whilst making your moves, you could try eating a McDonalds or maybe drinking some Pepsi.
The tip of the day #31 by TexasCalculatem is not really a tip related to BrainKing, but pure advertising. I feel, that that is not the right place for it.
(V): I have been using Chrome (by Google) on and off since it was released, and agreed it is fast
A few articles i have read suggest that a lot of people went over to it right away, but many are returning to Firefox and IE now. It is not just a security issue (though that is foremost) but there are many sites it is not compatible with at all, Facebook being a well known one
I will stick to Firefox, though it is not as fats as it should be with all my Add-ons lol
anastasia: The only problem I've found with firefox is that certain sites don't like it very much. They seem to work better with IE. So I tend to use Firefox 95% of the time and IE occasionally. The google one though fast is not yet (so I hear) as secure as it could be. It might be worth waiting a little while on that one for them to tweak it a bit.
MadMonkey: we had firefox...didn't like it...accidently took safari...hated that one...I just prefer my IE,thats all...I have tho, been waiting to try that one from google after I start hearing some feedback on it...so far I haven't really heard anything..and like I said, since I went up to the IE8..I like it even better
anastasia: I have several browsers installed and they all have good & bad points, though overall i would recommend Firefox for Safety, Speed & Versatility
Safari is great for speed though on most sites (including here)
Can i just ask why you prefer IE ?
If it is just the way it looks, Firefox has an Add-on that makes it look like IE, though this is mainly for web page developers so they can see how pages look in IE when they are designing them in Firefox, but i guess you could leave it permanently as IE.
There is Seamonkey (by Mozilla as well) which is the all-in-one application formerly known as the "Mozilla Application Suite", containing a web browser, a mail and newsgroups client, an HTML editor, web development tools, and an IRC chat client.
So i would say stick to Firefox or Safari, they are both far superior for surfing. (if you need any help on FF and customizing it just shout)
Chrome (by Google) is shaping up to be a good browser, though it is in early days yet
For Mac users there is Camino (by Mozilla), though i have not tried that.
Funny thing happened to me yesterday actually, my boss deleted FF off the work PC, so now i have to use IE when i am there, and HECK do i hate it
anastasia: I have 4 differ3ent browsers on my computer for different reasons. None of them interfer with the others. I mainly use safari for this site only. You don't have to switch, just use it for the sites you want
anastasia: Of course you can have more than one browser. I still have IE on my computer because some sites don't work great with firefox. You can use two browsers at once, so it really doesn't have to affect your surfing habits at all.
TheCrazyPuppy: not sure but I REALLY like it....I just got ANOTHER error message from ONLY this site...wish I could copy and paste it but it dissapears as soon as the IE8 reloads the page....the basic message is that there was an error on the site page and it must close,BUT IE8 is able to not completely close it,but reload it for me.I am not having this trouble with any other site....could it be something with the ads that pawns get?
anastasia: using firefox at home with no problems at all .. using IE at work .. and also having no problems ... but i visit less pages on this site at work and make less moves from work
maybe pawns get some extra's which paying members dont get (ads or something like that) .. maybe those extra's cause trouble ?
anastasia: I quit using IE long ago. Safari is very fast once you get it loaded. It's faster than Firefox but I think Firefox has better protection safeguards. Anyway you slice it, IE is no where near as good as a few other browsers (like Firefox).

anastasia: I have trouble off and on with the site, but especially when I use IE. A friend suggested I download safari..it's a free download and a great browser...and the site works great for me with it. I think you can just go to safari.com and it will walk ya thru..hope that helps! Also, on the computers board, there's alot of discussion on different browsers to use. Good luck!
