What happens to the days that are left from my previous membership if i purchace another? I've been here for few weeks now and i've liked the site a lot. So i bought the bishop membership. I think i'd like to play even more games! But if i buy the rook membership, what happens to the rest of my bishop period? I know its only 2 euros and i've spent almost a week out of that.. But i'd still like to know how it goes if and when i upgrade my membership.
I just find if funny though on a site like this, when you think how many Logik games have been played. We know of 2 games (the one i mentioned & Roses one) that had identical codes, BUT thats only the people who noticed. I have to confess if my opponent had not told me i would not of noticed
MadMonkey: The statistical odds of the code being the same are 1/ 32768 since the actual code does not matter. It is a statistical oddity, but should happen occasionally.
A funny thing just happened in a game of Logik My opponent just solved my code (luck i think lol), but looking at the game, we find that both our codes were the same. Now i used Random to pick my code, yet currylms set hers herself..................how mad is that to both end up with the same code in the same game
redfrog: Well i just tried to remove lovelysharon & joshi tm from the Ludo Team that has already been entered, and good news it would not let me
So it looks like the option just appears, BUT will not actually let you remove players from a Team that has been entered.
It will let me remove players that are signed for the Team BUT NOT entered in a Tournament though.
So we have a bit of a mix, just because the Captain or Boss is on a Team the option should really be there all the time so anyone not entered in a Team Tournament can be removed, so it is a bug still i think lol
At least we know why its sometimes there & sometimes not
there is a sad person on this site, who do evrything to become number one........he plays against another and that one resigns after a 1 or 2 moves, so he wins and now he is almost number 1. and he can say i'm the best, very sad
coan.net: I had to take my team out because one person wanted off the team to play in another. I already had us in Fencers tourney. Only the Captain can do it. It is where you sign up for the tourney. Then we had to wait to enter again until I found another player.
redfrog: Good catch - I think that is it. For example, I look at regular battleboats - I can remove a player - but in Battleboat Plus where I already have a team signed up, I don't have that option any more.
MadMonkey: Here is a thought - the team tournaments may be impacting your situation - i dont know if the team in question is signed up for the team tournament or not - but i know that i looked at a couple teams i am member of to see if i could discover anything.
The teams that i am on that are not signed up for any of the coming team tournaments - those ones i can leave if i wanted to
the teams that are signed up and i have been selected to play... those team i cannot leave. Im guessing i cant leave until the tournament starts - that way - i cant sign up and get registered to play on one team and then do the same for another team.
the reason you might not be able to remove the member is that the team may be signed up - if thats the case - you will probably have to remove the team from the tournament first - then remove the member - select a new set of 8 - then sign up again....
i would ask any captain of a team that is signed up look at their teams and see if thats the case - im guessing they cant remove someone if the team is registered....
MadMonkey: Yes! thanks, I have now reported it, I must stress it is not from my fellowship I wish to remove a team member, but another fellowship I am captain in......... but! I don't have the option in my fellowship either
Marfitalu: I know, so do i on MOST my Teams, but not all
Welly, was looking for a way to remove players from a Team, so i showed him the Remove member option. He said he did not have it, then coan.net said he did not either. It sort of escalated from there, some have it and some do not, BUT now Team i have found one (maybe more) that i do not have it on
Odd but i can not see any difference or reason as to why it is there or it is not. I thought it maybe a Team Captain thing, but i have it in ones i am a Captain of and also those i am not
I think Fencer will have to let us know what make it appear or not
Other thought i guess, it could be an option that should always be there for Captains & BB's BUT could be a bug causing it to act irrationally (thats a good word for a Saturday lol)
coan.net: When I switched from Knight to Rook, I became a Rook right away and the rest of my Knight membership was added (one Rook month for two Knight months if I remember that correctly) without me having to ask Fencer for it, so I always thought that it is part of the automatic processing.
But now I am not even sure that my payment was processed automatically
MadMonkey: I think it can do either - but I don't think that is setup in the automatic payment process that works for 95% of the users, so the person might need to let Fencer know what they want to do and have him manually fix it.
If a member upgrades from a Bishop / Knight to a Rook, i thought there Rook membership started right away, and any left over of there previous membership was added to the end
Well, surely it should do so they can take advantage of there new membership for Tournaments etc...
alanback: of course because of the sheer number of dice rolls being generated every day, there will be a large amount of good or bad rolls. you are exactly right. i bet that if you could somehow look at all of the rolls on this site in a day, you would probably see each of the 6 numbers represented fairly evenly.
this reminds me of when i used to regularly scan the forums of a poker site i play at. inevitably ehrte was always someone complaining about the large number of bad beats. what they didnt always realize was that that site does hunderds of thousands of hands on a slow day, and that a certain percentage of bad beats will happen. a 1% chance over 1 million hands is 10,000.
alanback: Yes! I think people just need 'something' to blame when they get so frustrated.
Just out of interest though, Fencer, is the random dice programme 'burglar proof' as someone else mentioned, or could anyone playing here be able to fiddle their dice? (Im a technophobe so wouldnt have a clue about such things lol)
Lambyless: Yes, it was a real revelation to me when I played my first big tournament with precision dice and the rolls were just as "impossible" as they are online.
alanback: Yes I agree & I don't think it does happen. I play backgammon in 'real life' also & the dice are as annoying at times as they are on here (and thats me throwing them so no excuse lol).....so thats just the way it goes
Lambyless: You're right, if it happens very often to the same person that would raise suspicion. I was responding to the suggestion that it should never happen.
alanback: even so, surely it can't malfunction with the same person every time to assist them to win? (which is what the point of this topic is isnt it?)
