mybirthdaysoon: This is not anything to do with animals. It is a personal thing which I will not discuss on a public board, and that is all I will say on the matter. So there is no point in carrying on this discussion.
heavenlyemma:Why not answer it here if we are talking about your dog? Emma, if your Sammy lived a good life and loved you over 14 years, then you are one of the lucky pet owners. A lot of us had beloved pets that don't live such a long life!
heavenlyemma:Unfortunately and it is very sad, alot of peope have to have pets put to sleep for various reasons. I did i had a cocker spaniel since the age of 6, and had to put him to sleep through pure kindness to him, because he was having convulsions constantly, the question i would like to ask you, is why does having a familypet put to sleep, make one nasty to peeps, as you put it.
anastasia: Took Prince to the vet and got a clean bill of health for him. He is such a sweetheart can't believe he was a stray. 89.2 lbs the big lug. I will get pics of him.
"Snoopy": Yeah. But he/she is cute with those little glasses. My favorite is the little puppy that tries to get out of the bed to the dish bowl and does a total flip over! lol So cute.
These are pretty funny. I couldn't find where the original was hosted so I posted it on my site. It will come down in a week or so. Take a peek before then ;)
Just got home from the shelter with a new family member. they say he is a 3 yo Rottweiler/Husky mix. Not sure about the 3 yo part will find out with his vet appointment. He is a doll. Love him so much already :)
anastasia: I agree. Our neighbor has lots of cats. Half of them think they live here. We feed them and when it gets too cold, we give them a warm place to sleep. We have three little shelters for them and when it gets too cold we let them in for the night. ;) The neighbor has dogs and goats too! The dogs come over for treats in the summer. I always keep a good supply on hand :)
Rose: LOL - so true - nature's way of balancing it all out, maybe? Cat, dog, frog...I think they all have potential, just like humans, only difference is, we're mostly guaranteed our chance at using it, for them, not so much
My dog of twenty-three (yup!) years used to bring me the mail (sometimes holes, sometimes not), close doors when they were left open, brought me my shoes and his leash if asked to, bark for me when my little ones fell down in the yard, if anyone was crying, he would come and sit with you, he loved to play on sliding boards and such AND even though he was deaf and mostly blind (later in life) he could be a quarter-mile away from me in the woods and if a stranger approached me, he would silently (and suddenly) be right by my side watching over me...If there was ever a doggie that should've worn a cape, it was him...and all of this he did out of love, not training...Animals are amazing creatures when given the chance to be themselves
