Personally, John Baker, the strategy you say you use is the most effective. I am not really an expert at regular reversi, however. Anti-reversi is my game.. but the strategy is of course similar.
When learning reversi, I used to try to always take as many as possible through the game.. and lost almost every time! lol. it's all about position, not numbers, through most of the game, in my opinion..
I would guess it would be the one with MORE games.. That would make it even more established than someone with less games...
just a guess, though..
:-)
LOL.. You've got 3 going against me right now.. I'll go move on them.. I've been in the process of trying to catch up on some of my older tournaments that I'm holding up.. :-(
Call me old fashioned, but why not analyze moves with your brain??? I wouldn't go as far as calling it cheating, but I personally would have much more respect for a "top player" who DOESN'T use a program, in any part of his/her game playing.
Hey... Where are all the anti-reversi players???? I've signed up for quite a few anti reversi tourneys, and there is rarely enough to start the tourney. So, I decided to create my own, and do a little advertising to get people to join! So come on! Join the Hot-Rod anti reversi tourney by April 5! LOL.. what a goofy name, but oh well! There are 4 signed up now, so this tourney will definitely be happening.. Let's get some more!
