Argomento: Re: Checker markers
Here are some pieces. Feel free to download/modify to suit your needs.

No problem to use both sets.
Can you make all requires pictures? I really have no time to make any modifications myself.

The download has all of the required pictures for both black and white. The only pictures it doesn't include are the ones I didn't modify.

Sorry, I've missed the link. Thank you.

I don't see pictures for kings and queens. Or did I miss something?

8. Luglio 2004, 23:37:27
Summertop
I didn't do them. Mostly people just didn't like the "Pawn" for the checker pieces. I didn't hear anyone complain too loudly about the King/Queen.

The set must be consistent. I don't want to mix different graphics.

Not sure what you want...Options are:

1. You can rename my files to "fit" in your existing sets. I tried to maintain consistent filenames based on the samples from the settings page.

2. You can Send me the complete sets and I will modify with my images and send them back to you (PM me for my email address).

3. Just hold on to them till you get more time.

4. You don't don't have to use them at all. Obviously.

Just trying to help in anyway possible. I just don't want to be distracting you from more important matters...

two additional buttons would be useful.
"place remaining ships randomly" and,
"clear board and place ships randomly" ~*~

How about having each person's flag next to their username in DBs ?

Argomento: I invite you to check this game out
I am a chess fan, and have designed a game (check out Sentinel Chess at www.chessvariants.com. Ed Friedlander, a programmer, designed a PixelPusher chess program to demonstrate the game --follow the link to www.pathguy.com/chess/Sentinel.htm and test it for yourself.

If you as a collective think it enjoyable, I would love to see it played here as well. This is a site that brings me great joy, and I want to add to the enjoyment if I can.

danoschek: The current "random placement" button places remaining ships randomly.

Argomento: Little black online pawns
I really like those little black pawns indicating online status on the Ratings page..
Are there any plans to put them on any other pages? (Main page would be GREAT)

Argomento: Re: Little black online pawns
Sure but some other [smaller] symbol would be better. Any ideas?

Even a dot of some sort would be great..

A green dot

another site, although rather pathetic at most things, makes all your online opponents appear BOLD.
This might be an option Fencer

How about making the pawn/knight/rook/king icons a different color if a person is on-line. (Like green or something?) Then it would not take up any more space.

10. Luglio 2004, 19:12:18
LongJohn
perfect

10. Luglio 2004, 19:13:23
rod03801
That would be okay on a lot of pages, BBW, but we don't see the pawns/knights/rooks/ etc.. on the main page..

10. Luglio 2004, 19:14:12
Fencer
Yes, that's it. Another color of icons. Thanks BBW :-)

10. Luglio 2004, 19:14:14
Stevie
I was going to say that too LOL

Also any page you can see it, is a page you can tell they are on or offline anyways.

We only need something on the games list on the main page and waiting games page

10. Luglio 2004, 19:16:42
Fencer
Actually, with a new database server it will be no problem to reflect on-line status on all pages containing users with their icons [YES, I will keep bothering with it until the goal is reached! :-)].

10. Luglio 2004, 19:17:32
LongJohn
is it implemented yet fencer?
all the pawns/rooks etc still look the same colour to me?

LongJohn: Alhough I call myself a very good programmer, I still cannot do miracles like adding a new feature within several minutes :-)

10. Luglio 2004, 19:25:13
coan.net
Fencer, if you had a new database server, could you have the programming done in a few minutes? (LOL) :-)

10. Luglio 2004, 19:27:20
Fencer
BBW: Some minor enhancements can be done in one minute :-) I already did it many times.

Fencer
I was only joking as I posted only moments after you suggested it was a good idea :)
But I tend to disagree somewhat, I thinnk some of the features can be considered somewhat miraculous. I notice the bug extermination is coming along well so keep up the good work

just out of curiosity, what order is the list that shows people who have joined a tournament?
I caanot work out the order as it doesnt seem to be alphabetical or by order joined.
If it was sorted by date/time joined, that would be best as it would make it easier to check who are the new joiners.

also, is there any way to stop certain people from constantly joining a tourney after they have been removed. For example, in my tourney, I will remove all pawns who have created their accoutn after june 28th. What is to stop them from joining up again minutes before the cuttoff and then they are in?

10. Luglio 2004, 20:36:42
Fencer
It should be sorted by BKR.
About stopping people from joining, I can add a banning feature for tournaments. Later.

10. Luglio 2004, 20:39:16
LongJohn
can it be sorted by date signed up for the tournament instead?

10. Luglio 2004, 20:40:38
Fencer
No, because this information is not stored. It would require to add one more column to the database table, containing a timestamp of joining action.

10. Luglio 2004, 20:44:50
BuilderQ
If the list is sorted by BKR, how is it decided wheere unrated players fit?

10. Luglio 2004, 20:46:55
Fencer
Even unrated players are rated but their BKR is not shown. Everyone starts with 1300.

color options? I just ordered one, but would prefer a grey shirt if that's available!!!

10. Luglio 2004, 21:27:04

Eriisa: Lenka says she'll try to make it but it depends if they have it in a wholesale or not. If not, it will be black or white :-)

On average, that's grey. LOL

10. Luglio 2004, 21:30:27
