Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
There is no reason to believe the majority want auto-pass, it's the same few who bring it up. As a feature request I'd like to ask for no more posts on this trivial and boring subject.
there appears to be no reason not to implement this as an optional attribute for the player, other than "it is difficult to implement and other things take priority". If this could be stated then I believe nobody would bring it up again.
Maybe the majority do want to have the <trivial and boring item>. I know I do, but I also know that Fencer is not interested in it so I try to be one voice that does not drive him crazy.
on that subject anyone..... Its still open season on the other subjects though! rofl.
I just want to read one REAL..just one..reason and not those faked reasons Kevin has posted 11 times(if his counting is correct).
Is it as simple as Fencer is too embarrased to confess that he doesnt know how to do it?
If i was the owner of a site and a majority wanted me to do something to please ALL players i shouldnt hesitate one second to do it!
Are some peoples money worth more than others?
This is getting so boring. Andersp, maybe he just doesnt want to do it. Period. Its his site, just as if it were your house and you didnt want a chair, you wouldn't put it there...
Medic..He has never answered in public, maybe he has sent you a PM?
I suppose Jason tried to be funny, but im sorry i didnt understand it, stupid swede you know.
You cant expect to auto-pass your opponent's moves, can you? So it won't speed the game up any further than the 3-4 seconds it takes you yourself to pass. Are you people really serious about this? So much talk about something so completely unimportant, incredible, "read a book".
Actually, Fencer has told me auto-pass would be very easy to add (and anyone with basic programming knowledge would know this). So you can either accept that it isn't going to happen because Fencer does not want to add it and drop it, or continue to complain about it and cause real feature requests to be missed because of it.
a valid and easy fine-tuning.
It's just annoying whenever a new member asks the autopass question,
the same couple of people jumps him/her in concerted action ... ~*~
Medic says "You know, maybe he has answered before and doesnt care to mess with it anymore. How long does it take to just hit the button and move? Geeez "
Thats true, but its the upto 30 days wait for that person to do the press of button that is unecesary.
All other game sites have auto pass on Reversi games.
Maybe Fencer should actually use his poll link to the left and find how the comunity feel.
The only reasoon you hear only a few voices, is because we are the only ones who will speak up.
Just to have some jumped up little jerk, spout a long message of sod all at us each time
Never knew you felt like that about me! I think it's absurd to imagine that you decide when your opponent moves, the height of bad manners, the only way I can see to do it is to have two versions of all games that have pass situations, auto-pass on or off.
Ugh...finally you seem to understand. We are talking about an OPTION!..doesnt that mean that those who want autopass can use it and the "chatters" can choose to not use it. Fair to EVERYONE isnt it?
It really doesn't matter to me either way, I dont understand why it's so crucial for you(?) If you're short of games to move in you can stick with shorter time limits or stick another 90 challenges in the waiting games, it's just not a big problem, is it?
If you mean me, I'm not bitching, that characterises the behaviour of AndersP and Stevie. I'm quite tired of coming to this board to read about this nonsense so I'd like to kill it today.
And in answer to the rather obvious jibe about programming knowledge, I am aware it would be easy, i merely stated that would be the only reason not to implement it in my opinion.
I second the use of the Polls link to guage the real preference of paying members.

if it's just about diffuse puberty rituals of fixative proving whatever, I'll come
back later ... firstly you must sleep eventually, secondly it's more appropriate
to continue when new members have to be supported against your bitching ... ~*~
It's not about diffuse puberty rituals of fixative proving whatever, it's about, inter alia, football chess. The trivialisation of this board on the "question" of auto-pass means that the majority will not see the posts of either you or me that made genuine suggestions to improve the site. I hope that Bumble or Red Dragon have the patience and dilligence to delete all the auto-pass crap and leave just those pertinent posts.
I was not going to post on this subject since Fencer has made his decision, and if he does not want it - then it is his site to run, so he does not need to put it in.
But I want keep reading post like ughaibu who thinks that the auto pass would only save 3-4 seconds, and other stuff - so let me first examplain how an auto-pass option would help, and then some reasons why it would be good. (Again, sorry Fencer - I know this has all been said before, but I know that some users were not around to read this before.)
How it will help. Well take this current example of a game. Lets say that each person takes 2 days to make a move.
Jan 1 - Player A moves
Jan 3 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 5 - Player A moves
Jan 7 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 9 - Player A moves
Jan 11 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 13 - Player A moves
Jan 15 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 17 - Player A moves
Jan 19 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 21 - Player A moves
Jan 23 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 25 - Player A moves
Jan 27 - Player B has no moves, passes
Jan 29 - Player A moves
Jan 31 - Player B has no moves, passes
Feb 2 - Player A moves
Feb 4 - Player B Now has a move, and finaly gets to play.
Now lets take the same game example, and show how it would work with auto-pass:
Jan 1 - Player A moves, submits, Player B can not make a move so it allows Player A to make another move. Submits again, Player B can not make a move again, so it allows Player A to make another move. (and so on and so on until Player B is able to move)
Jan 3 - Player B looks at the game, see's a message that says "You had no moves available. CLICK HERE to jump ahead to your current move, or you can click "next" to go through move by move to see what your opponenet has done"
So for the above example, a month was saved in a game - I have seen some games which go MANY months of passing.
============
Reasons why it would be good:
1) THIS IS A GAME SITE! Persoanaly, I come here to play games. Me sitting for a month and hitting "Pass" is NOT PLAYING. I've even seen some people just resign because they wanted to play a game, not sit and hit pass for months.
2) Plus other minor issues like it will speed up the time it takes to complete a game, complete a tournament, etc.... but for me, the #1 issues is MY main issue why I would like to see it.
AGAIN - Sorry Fencer to talk more about this subject. :-)
Argomento: so besides of the bitching and diffuse puberty rituals
we had topic posts about football chess and dice chess ... I'd like remind yet of
the possible Chaturanga dice chess - while hoping together with other paying concerns
that new members who bring up the complete backgammon features are not harrassed. ~*~
As I said, the player with no move may want to exercise an option such as offering a draw. Even though they have no move, in the case of backgammon, probability may be strongly in their favour, accordingly the player able to move might accept a draw (are there agreed draws in backgammon?) anyway, you get my drift.
