Last weekend there was a Gothic Chess tournament at the University of Tennessee. I had heard about it on the radio and in the paper and it's only 40 minutes from my house, so I drove by to have a look. Nicely organized event with lots of friendly people playing Gothic Chess (i'd say 100 or more). I did catch a glimpse of Ed Trice walking around playing what people were telling me was a "simul". There were 12 people playing Gothic Chess against him at the same time and he won all of the games. Quite a cutie too if I must say so!! I am not the biggest chess fan, but I think you all have some strange sort of jealous thing going on. Lighten up!

last time he prevailed as we know ... his lost game vs caissus vanished under
mysterious circumstances not only from the backup after a server crash, but also
from the why so bad memory of that hopelessly busted representant of infidelity ... ~*~

The game with Trice? Of course it's a joke. I'm publishing that game at http://www.chessgames.com/index.html do as you like.

if some of the really pity occurances here would
be marked as joke after all, many of their naturally

no I won't comment - the game is still in progress and only cheaters or less serious
players would interfer now apart of technical statements. - As soon as you have won

ughaibu: The game Trice-Alex does not affect that what I wrote when I offer a draw.
Well, in the game Trice-Alex a draw offer all three moves wuould be strange enough, yes ... but this can not be prohibited in my opinion. draw offer every move should be only prohibited.
but maybe worth to look at: a checkbox such as "i do not accept draw offers" ...

Argomento: Re:
ughaibu: when i offer a draw, then it i do it because
a) i mean the position is in my opinion equal and
a1) the tournament can be done with the draw (depends on my rank)
a2) i am playing against a strong player and it is such as a "leading question" ... just to know a little bit more what the opponent want ;-)
b) i am in a better position bt in the tournament/match this is enough

22. Maggio 2005, 21:40:07
ughaibu
Generally it's bad manners to offer a draw in an inferior position, in effect this means that if a draw offer is refused the opponent thinks that their position is better, ie no consecutive draw offers by either player.

Argomento: Re: to all serious players
danoschek: Maybe some people do not understand that perpetual-draw-offers are for chessplayers not only unsportsmenlike ... against the whole game.
i think the experienced chess players here know the worth of a draw-offer, often done as a leading question, but never perpetual.
altough we are playing here "virtual" draw offers are useful for psychological playing here too ... as I said: I do not like draw spammers (some from the first move in the game!)

I'm going to post a thematic chess tournament, winners will be those to first double rooks on the 7th, no draws. The tournament'll be entitled "blind pigs" and'll be co-dedicated to the global moderators and the cloak facility.
