Argomento: Firefox-Browser on TOR for Mac - Javascript and Flash
Hi all,
I am trying to install TOR on my Mac, which is a software for anonymous browsing. It comes with an inbuilt firefox-like browser, but with no extension.
Up to now I wasnt able to install shockwave/flash add-ons to be able to watch TV-streams while using TOR.
There are some installation-tips in the web and I tried a lot...
The Linux Foundation is funding three Linux kernel internships through the Outreach Program for Women administered by the GNOME Foundation. These internships have a $5,000 stipend and come with a $500 travel grant to attend and speak at LinuxCon this fall. This is a great opportunity to work with a mentor and get started with kernel development, which as many articles report, is a great way to land a high-paying job.
alexlee: That looks like a Chinese, Japanese or similar language version with charset that is not installed no his computer. Clicking the small English flag at the right column (and confirming) should help.
I have a friend who can not get BK to load right. This is what he said, can anyone tell me what I can tell him to try?

Not really a Computer problem, more of a Website problem (which i dont know a lot about lol).
A friend of mine runs a Cheer-leading pack of young girls. They have won awards everywhere, and even at there young ages have traveled the world. She needs a website, and asked me where is the best/cheapest place to buy a name and hosting site for the cheerleaders ? She already have the names she want for the page and they are available too (as in no one has them yet).
Found the answer... Unlike my old card, the new one has pre-set min/max range on the GPU and memory for over-clocking. So the Catalyst Control centre no longer needs to test in this range for stability problems. Although, it is advised to keep below 95%.
Above that, the likes of MSI afterburner are required with the safeties disengaged. And in my case (which I am doing) add additional cooling.
Does anyone know whether there is a problem with the AMD overdrive function (within the Catalyst Control functions)and certain ATI graphics cards? In this case a ati radeon 6450.
The auto tune and test stability do not appear, even though on my old card they were visible and worked.
I used the manufacturers version of the Catalyst control centre, I've not tried the ATI version.. so it could be that, just I wondered if anyone has had similar or has heard of this problem.
SL-Mark: That's great if you read sign language. He says there's a video that he later made with subtitles, but the one I found didn't have the best ones.
Somehow I installed this download manager or whatever it is. I thinik it was bundled with another software (maybe ccleaner). Apparently Ilivid has a good reputation with some reputable sites because from what I've read just today, it has a 5 star rating from download.com.
But for the past month I've had horrible problems with a very slow computer. Very slow. It got so bad that I thought it was just the browser I used so I switched back to Firefox. Same problem with Firefox but with one exception: I could not designate a homepage of my own. It kept defaulting back to some searchqu.com. So after a little investigating, one suggestion to "clean up" my computer was to go to C:\Program Files\Windows iLivid Toolbar\Datamngr\ToolBar and delete the program. Other suggestions were to download this or that malware scanner (which I did) but nothing was detected. I didn't even know I had Ilivid installed on my computer. I went to the directory as suggested and found the program with an uninstall feature. I uninstalled it (I couldn't do an uninstall via Windows Control Panel because the program didn't show up in the list) and immediately after the uninstall my computer is 5+ times faster. I can't believe the change. Has anyone else had this experience with Ilivid?
(V): There is no DX11 for XP and i suppose Microsoft do not have plans to develop it in the future either. They have not made dx10 either for xp. There are some third party hacks for dx10 in xp, but i'm not very convinced about them. Maybe there will be third party versions of dx11 for xp but i wouldn't hold my breath.
As far as Linux goes, even older versions of dx do not run perfectly under Wine. Proper dx11 support might come some day but once again, do not hold your breath. OpenGL is the graphics standard in Linuxes anyway (of course DX includes more than just graphics).
So i guess only way to properly run dx11 software is to get Windows 7.
Now.. I know the answer is very probably no, but does anyone know of a method of updating from dx9 to dx11 without having to go through the hassle of updating my OS from XP to 7? I think I've gone as far as I can, re managing to find a dx10 update for XP, but I have not seen any that can take me from dx10 to dx11 without redoing my Windows OS.
I'm also interested in what the likes of ubuntu can do regarding this matter.
MadMonkey: well, in libre-office it might be still more or less an office file, so to make sure it isnt that i would still try the .pdf (there are several freeware options in the www that do this job)
diogenysos: HI-ya, i had just tried that funny enough. I opened the Powerpoint file in libre-office (Linux ubuntu) and as in Office 2010, it looks fine on the screen. It just seems when it prints.
To me i am either missing something crazy when i design the files (but as i say, they look correct on screen) OR the only thing that connects the 2 systems is the copy of Microsoft Office i am using, as that is the same one on both systems
MadMonkey: did you try a different software? You should be able to export your office-files into a .pdf for example and then open and print it using the adobe reader (or better adobe acrobat if you have this commercial software). And then, of course, you should try it on both printers :-D
if the problem isnt solved or at least concretized, i would suggest also to check if the paper tray is adjusted correctly...
SL-Mark: Well, in short. I am Secretary on the Committee of our Royal British Legion and the other day a member died and i had to put a notice up. All i did was found an old notice on the computer and changed the details (name & date etc..) and printed that off. It was all to one side .....that was all done on the club computer & printer
Anyway, i have been at home all week and thought i would sort out a few other notices & posters that need to go up. I have drawn new ones from scratch, but the same problems occur....and that is on my computer & printer.....most strange
MadMonkey: Okay, if you have set up print properties (page size, margins etc.) all correctly, then I would suspect the print driver. Check out the printer manufacture's website for enhanced versions.
SL-Mark: I used the guillotine on the first poster i did the other day lol
I will look at those links, BUT as i say, on screen and in print preview, EVERYTHING looks as it should.
I even just created a new Word poster with one thing on it...a Triangle of Snooker Balls and used Page layout ---> Position ---> Center of page (which it did great on screen) BUT then i printed it and no good, totally offset by about 1.5cm....
will goto bed and have a read, then look at those links in the morning....cheers anyway

not really a computer problem (or i would ask myself LOL) but more of a Microsoft office 2010 problem.
I am trying to create a couple of basic posters, but want them to look nice. On the screen they look great, all centralized etc..... BUT when i print them they are always offset. In other words, there is for example a 3 cm gap on the left, but a 5 cm one on the right..yet on screen as i say, everything seems fine.
I have tried different posters in Word and Powerpoint and on different computers and printers. I must be doing something, OR missing something completely ...any ideas anyone ???

diogenysos: did you buy the warranty? if you did that's why you didn't have to send it back. amazon will replace it one time. i love the kindle and i bought the warranty and i'm glad to hear that they replaced it.

wetware: I got Microsoft to send a Windows disk free of charge to us. They made it that a certain laptop manufacturer could not issue such for reinstalling Windows if the likes of a virus overrun or hard disk failure. All I had to do was email a copy of the document I got off the manufacturer.

(V): This week my TV (only 3.5 years old) lost the ability to power on. I didn't opt for any extended warranty; the original warranty expired a couple of years ago. But the manufacturer--through a subcontractor, I think--is going to make the repair in my home, and free of charge. A not-so-small miracle!

Artful Dodger: So say all the consumer experts. N' our UK regulatory body called "Trading Standards" recon goods should last about 6 years at least. Well, that is what I was told during a telephone convo.
