MadMonkey: It's not necessary, to have a more-than-6-sided die, but, I think, it would be a good idea, to have the probabilities weighted this way. That means, it would be 8 times more probable to roll a "1" than a "6", and 2 times more probable to roll a "2", "3" or "4" than "5" or "6". What do you think?

Another question according this game: Is it possible to castle or to capture en passant, if the die and the usual chess rules allow it?

danheg: It would be cool, even odds, but that would be whole other gamplay.

MadMonkey: Ah, I see. The code is generated only in 1-6 range.

Fencer: Roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Marvel superheroes, and etc.  use 4 sided, 10 sided , 20 sided, percentile dice, and etc.  It wouldn't be impossible. 

MadMonkey: But then you would have a 16 sided dice. Could be cool for a variant of course, but not to replace the rules, cause these are fine this way.

Fencer: It can, BUT a computer can pick and Random number between 2 points, as in 1 & 16 at the start of a game.

If it picked a number between :
1 and 8 = 1 Pawn
out of 9 & 10 = 2 Knight
out of 11 & 12 = 3 Bishop
out of 13 & 14 = 4 Rook
a 15 = 5 Queen
or 16 = 6 King

In other words your chances of moving a pawn are greatly increased at the start, and most the way through the game. It would make for a totaly different game. I thought the 1 to 6 way was the way it was happening

But then if you did it that way, could not really be called Dice Chess, but could be another version (Dice Chess 2), at least the maths percentage would be right LOL

Fencer: Just a interesting question i thought. In Dice Chess, does the code generate a random number when picking which piece to move either:

Between 1 and 6

Or

Between 1 and 16 (or all possible pieces available to a player)

MadMonkey: It was started a while after midnight where some final bugfixing was made. The move has been cancelled.

Fencer: My game 2203836 was.
My opponent started with a Knight (not a king), now its forcing me to play my Queen, thats not what the rules say. Thats why i would like it restarted.

MadMonkey: what is the difference if your opponenet uses the king or knight first? both give 8 points, and both you can't block any of those 8 points - so no matter if white started with king or knight, it should be the same or very close to the same.

As a side note, I've played with the king-queen rule in 3 test games, and I was still able to win all 3 games as black. (just a lot closer) Of course there are a few other rules on how spaces are counted that was not in place at that time.

MadMonkey: Just delete the game! The rules should have only effected new games started after the 11th, some bug, I guess.

Pedro Martínez: Of course it is, Blacks Queen will now get blocked in, hence the idea of taking away Blacks advantage, now WQhite has a major one. I would not mind if White had been forced to use the King first like the Rules state, but i dont think changing game rules during a game is right.

MadMonkey: Yes, that is right...even though I don't think the advantage of the white is that major...if any at all...

BIG BAD WOLF: There was a global downtime on our ISP. Not a BrainKing issue.

Jason: Yesterday for about 1/2 hour, and today off and on for less then 10 minutes at a time, connection problems - all other sites work well.

Don't think it is a BrainKing issue, but a connection issue (since I could not also connect to brainking.info, which is on a different server if I remember correctly.)
