Mousetrap: Its not Mouse, this time last night i was at work (as i am now) and for 6 hours at least i could not get on. Thats at least another 4 hours from now it was still down, but i went home then and did not bother to try when i got home so do not know when it came back, when Fencer got here i guess
coan.net & Mousetrap: the site was down for about an hour and a half or something, and then time-outs were suspended for 24 hours, so there was plenty of time given
Mousetrap: for me it went down 26 hours ago for at least 5 hours, however the message that shows up when there is a time out said that it was only down for one hour. Fencer did mention that that could happen
Did Brainking go down for a while? If so what happend to the extra time alowed so we dont time time out? I have timed out in a few games because I could not access the site untill now. I am not worried about it I just wondered what had happend.
Snoopy: It depends on what kind of match type is used. If it's a single game (or another fixed number) then as others wrote, the one with the lower ranking goes through. But if the match type is one win, in case of a draw, there's a rematch.
It took me a while to figure this out. I don't really like the idea of a player going through based on her rating; therefore when I create an elimination tournament, I try to remember selecting "1 win" as the match type.
There is a link to the Polls in the left column of the Main page. Isnt that enough? People who are interested in the polls can click there and read the ads.
Isnt it a shame, that Fencer applies these good "Add on's" i.e the "Polls" and people get a kick out of abusing them by setting up polls to victimise the members of that fellowship.........
Bernice: Well again, if it's that bothersome to you, the simplest solution is to leave the fellowship.
I agree, it's all very childish. It's too bad some people have no clue what is inappropriate and what isn't. Seriously, the places these immature polls have come from, are not even the smallest surprise.
heavenlyemma: This is really pretty off topic, but I don't share my personal life on a game site.(Except with the few people who I consider friends) So, I'm really not even slightly worried about it.
rod03801: Then I had to leave every f/s that generates polls, not just certain one. I see it in the way of a redactional finesse, or a matter of design, no big thing, I just don't want to see any of them, as they seem to repeatedly reappear. It's a no-brainer anyway, the box can be switched away in the settings, as busy bk.info readers know.
The polls are only advertised on your Main page if you are a member of the fellowship.
Personally, I like seeing the fellowship polls I am eligible to vote in, there. If you don't like the polls that are being generated by a certain fellowship, why be in it? Just leave the fellowship. Very simple.
Andersp: The box about the polls on the mainpage would be much nicer with the public polls only. These are the only that can get a relevance worth be shown on the mainpage. Until I'm told different I claim the overwhelming weight of the 226 voters of my age group for this statement
the problem is though that the polls the conversation is about now is about topics which is not fit for this board .. there is a good reason that the fellowship those polls are in is a fellowship and not a public board
Bernice: you can only see those polls when you are in that specific fellowship .. wether it is posted in the fellowship or as an fellowship poll .. the scope is the same .. only people who joined that specific fellowship can see it
leave the fellowship if you dont want anything to see from what's being done in there
Why do I have to have the rubbish on my main page of the polls that say "Do you think Jamie is Fat" This person was banned from posting on any board and now we have multiple Mods being made in Fellowships....why do the ordinay people have to see this rubbish?
If he is banned from posting take ALL rights away...
I have put a poll up in my fellowship, but when a member clicks on the poll tab they are saying there isnt anything there. Have i done anything wrong??
