I'd just like to leave a note about asking questions - could you please read what's already been asked? For instance, on the current interview there's already a couple of questions about furbster's hobbies... the answer probably won't be any different the second time Thing is, I can't delete questions, so I'll either have to ask one of the author's to change the question or, if the deadline has passed and questions are locked, I may ask Fencer to delete it manually. And sometimes I just miss the duplicates.
Even if you don't have the time to read all of them, try to make a quick search for some of the key words in the question first, just to make sure...
Marfitalu's Interview is finished. For once I still haven't finished reading it, because you just asked too many questions and my time is short these days, but I decided to let it go public just the same.
Ladies and Gentlemen! Mesdames et Messieurs! Notre prochain interlocuteur sera Marfitalu - le grand champion du BKR maintenant!
Donc, commencer à réfléchir à ce que vous voulez savoir sur lui, parce que vous avez 1 mois à poser des questions...
Our next subject will be Marfitalu - the big BKR champion right now! So start thinking about what you want to know about him because you have 1 month to ask questions...
Oh, and if you found any mistakes in the sentences above, you can keep them
ScarletRose: There is only one Interviews board, for all the languages. As it states above, this is an english speaking board but maybe gnonyakayago66♥ didn't know how to ask the question in english (about how I select the next interviewee). Anyway, lucky for him I understand portuguese
Fencer: The fact that I can't sort the questions properly. As you can see from Summerop's interview, there's no cohesion in the whole interview, it's just a bunch of isolated questions...
EDIT: For those that didn't get that, Summertop's interview has just been published
Summertop: That's right, your name has been up there all along, since a couple of minutes before my previous post I've been here all along (has you may have noticed). I was just being a little lazy, passing all the replies people sent in the Christmas context to the table I keep with all the potential candidates. And a few weeks ago, I decided I'd wait until today so I could make a believable April 1st joke
ScarletRose: Thanks for replying - I was wondering if anyone would notice the message at all, before I had to deny it Regarding your question, I think only one person has declined the opportunity to be interviewed, since I took over. I didn't find too much "resistance" until now...
EverybodyWell, question season is open again. So start thinking about all the fishy questions that you've always been dying to ask Summertop
As of today there will be no more interviews. Everybody I ask keeps refusing and I just don't see the reason to go on with it. Besides, I'm still waiting for Fencer to fix a bug on the system I reported over half a year ago! That doesn't help with motivation either...
If anyone wants the job it's open for grabs! April fools
Tuesday: No. The winner of the contest (Jim Dandy) is the one that has been intervewed before, so he can't be interviewed again. You and I are the victims this time
However, due to a technicality, I can't seem to create the new interview. I'm waiting for Fencer to tell me something on that. Also, the winner is a previous interviewee, so I'm also waiting on his reply to know who will win the prize interview in his place.
Summertop: Nope. If somebody had, the interview would have started already
Here's a tip to narrow it down - according to his profile here on BK, he's a male. But since it's mostly the girls who have been making guesses, who knows if we won't have an interview with a female as well? By the way, he's not on my friends list either... but it was a good try for all those that peeked in there
Like promised, we'll be having a special Interview this Christmas. The subject has already been chosen and aggreed to be interviewed but his/her name will remain in secrecy for a little longer. But I'll get to that in a little while...
This time you get the opportunity to ask questions in not 1 but 2 interviews. And better still, one of them can be about YOU! All you have to do is be the first to guess who will be interviewed this Christmas. There are "only" 75.000 names to choose from, it's easier than winning the lottery ;)
Here are the rules:
The next person to be interview will be kept in secret until someone guesses who it is. (s)he has aggreed to keep it a secret and not tell anyone about it.
To make a guess you should send me a PM. Any guesses made by other means will be disregarded. This way I can control the process easier and this board won't get cluttered.
To make it fair for everyone, each person can make a maximum of 5 guesses. No point in spamming me with all BK members (or I might report you to a Glob). Every guess after the 5th will be disregarded.
You may send more than one guess in the same message or send multiple messages with different guesses, it's up to you. Just don't forget the limit is 5
I'll be adding the suggestions to the list of possibilities for future interviews. So, even if you guess wrong, your vote will count for something! Most voted members will obviously get a greater chance to be interviewed soon. Since some people change their names, I keep links to profile pages in this list, so if you could send me those I'd appreciate it. But if you send just the name that's ok too and will be considered a valid entry.
When I read the first message suggesting the correct name I'll immediattely create 2 interviews - one for the secret interview and one for the winner.
If the winner has already been interviewed, (s)he'll get to nominate a replacement for the second interview.
If nobody guesses the correct name by 25 November 2008, I'll randomly pick a winner from the list of participants.
The competition is open to anyone. There are only 2 people that can't participate - me and the secret interview because we already know the answer of course
Tuesday: Fencer has nothing to approve, I do all the approving as far as interviews go. tenuki has been having some problems and he's answering the intwrview as he finds it possible.
Still none of those is stopping anything. I'm preparing a sort of Christmas special for the next interview... and it's still a bit to soon for Christmas
anastasia: Anybody can. Paying members were once pawns and many may become so again in the future. The first interview for instance was with someone that never payed for his membership
Oh, and by the way, last few hours to ask your questions for tenuki
Hrqls: At least they'll get it all at once. I had to endure getting only a couple of new answers in between visits to that page... talk about slow reading
Jim Dandy: If you start asking all those questions now, then there will never be the need to make an official interview with here, now will there? Save the questions for later
件名: Re: Would it be fair to place a 5 month maximum on interview submissions?
Jim Dandy: I can't force anyone to hurry up the interview but nobody is waiting for Hrqls anyway... Why inisist on it? Tenuki's interview is already on the way, you can still add some questions if you wish
Ok, after a few interviews with English and American members time has come again to go and find out more about the rest of the world.
This time you'll have the chance to learn something about a latin member. Someone that happens to be one of the top players here at BrainKing. A member that keeps a relatively low profile and many of you might not know nothing about. A guy who... oh, what the heck, it's tenuki !!!
Rose: Well, who said I'm waiting for Hrqls to start the next interview? It has happened in the past that the interview would start before the previous one finished, so that's not even an obstacle. Very well, I'll start arrangements for the next one. As soon as I get an answer from the candidate for next interview I'll post the details here, as usual...
AbigailII: I don't aggree on deleting interviews. Not only I can't do that, but I think it's not fair for all that have asked questions as well. Even if it takes a year, some people might still be interested in the answers...
Mousetrap: the last victim went on vacations with 9 questions still left to answer... I'll announce the next victim in a few days, no point in having an interview during August, there aren't that many people online to ask questions...
There is a new subject for the interviews. Since it's a beautiful Spring day around here, I've decided to extend the question period until the end of Spring (in the northern hemisphere). According to the cientists, Spring ends and Summer starts at the so called Summer solstice. Solstices occur twice a year - around 21st June and around 21st December and they are defined as the moment where the Earth's axis is oriented towards or away from the Sun. Those days coincide with the longest day at the hemisphere where the Summer starts and the longest night at the other. Since it's an astronomical based reference, it happens at the same time accros the world, no matter what time zone you're in (hint to srnity )
In 2008 the June's solstice (Summer solstice in northern hemisphere, Winter solstice in the South) will be in June 20th, at around 23:59 UTC. So, that's how long you'll have to ask yor questions. It should be plenty of time to come up with everything you always wanted to ask our subject.
So, put your thinking caps and come up with some good questions
Oh, and before I forget, the new interviewee is Hrqls, the main moderator at BrainKing.com board... Do your best!
Foxman: I've reread all the questions asked so far and I think the only one that fits in the "politics" category is actually one of mine. But even if it weren't my answer would still be the same:
Interviews are here for us to know other people better. that may include some of their political thoughts. Any interviewee is free to choose not to answer a particular question (political or otherwise). But my recommendation always is that it's best to answer them all - a witty, well humoured answer is always the best "defense" when you feel people are trying to get too personal or trying to get to you. The fact that there is a fellowship for politics is no answer - pawns don't have access to fellowships. Also, there's a General Chat discussion board, if you want to go that way, interviews shouldn't even exist since you could ask anything to other people on that board
