So, it seems, that weekends dont just keep you from timing out in a game, but actually stops the time from moving at all? For example, if there are 15 days left to time out, and you have a weekend, there is still 15 days left after the weekend?
IMupChucKing if you had a one day tourney you have one day to move untill it get to friday then it moves to three days , so it you have a seven day one i believe it would be nine days before you had to move , so a 21 day tourney most likely is 27 days ;)
I am not getting better with age; just worse. I am also not doing so well on IYT. I do not know if altzheimers is creeping in or senility or what. I am really trying to study the board more but I keep making stupid mistakes. Oh well, I am not so concerned about BKR as I am in having fun and meeting some very nice people here on this site.
Well Harley, there may be no rules against it, yet, but I think by purposly not moving in games that would have normally timed out had it not been for the timer to be defused is no example for anyones game playing (except maybe 'head games')
I know that, IMupChucKing! I'm just saying his speed of play is unimportant to me. I only commented at all because Steve started with "Kevin as captain...". Since I made him captain I felt obliged to reply!
Sorry Stevie, I didn't see anywhere that said captains must play at least X amount of moves per day! Kevin is an excellent captain, he motivates people to play and is a very polite and kind person. Thats all that matters to me.
I'm not in a Five-in-a-Line team in the up-coming "Team" tourney. If anyone out there needs an Average player to make the numbers up, i'd be happy to join... please let me know.....
Well, Jason - my Bud - had to laugh at ur 1day/30 day Jibe at LongJohn - class.
Re: Time limits..... I play here everyday (other than when I am not at home) and have usually 250+ games on the go. I only choose to play long-timed games so there is no effect if I lose my service on AOL for a bit, or BK crashes. When BK1.0 crashed a few times last year, did loads of you lose games on Timeout???? and have to apply for them to be re-instated??? I didn't.....
If you ask other regular players who enter the tournaments (usually Rooks - so they have the capacity to play enough games without having to waiting for others to move), such as Arpa, Jason, Ms Delete, Hannelore, Vikings etc,,,,,, they regularily enter long timed games (such as the ones I create) and they are finished well within 3 years or so like others calculate. I have ran 30+ Five in a Line tourneys with the time limits as 21 days and if you look at the last one that is running, (where the winners are stated) there have been loads completed so far.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that if you have enough games going, and you are not making moves on here for 8 hours + per day, you have enough moves to make before you log off without worrying about anyone on vacation or has not moved for a while.....
Re cariad's problem earlier.
If you look at A WHAM BAM's results in the team tournament backgammon you'll notice that they're still not registering in the total score.
One player timed-out on 4 of his 5 games. 3 of these are still to register on the score.
Hi everyone, in order to celebrate my new rook status, I created an Atomic tournament called the Inaugural Atomic Tourney..i know, i know, it's not original or iconoclastic...anyway, I hope you can join if interested.
I don't know about this site but on another site I have a game that will be 3 yrs old in October
Would be interesting to see what is the longest running game here :-)
A player from A WHAM BAM has timed out in all his backgammon games in the first team tourney but they're not registering either in the grid table or in the total.
just resign them.
If they are under 2 moves the bkr is unaffected I think.
You are now a rook, so once your games are ended, you dont necesarily need to be removed because you are not restricted by knight type restrictions
