Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
alanback: well, I thought it ended that game and a new one in the match started, but I thought maybe I was wrong.
The one thing I've noticed is that in a match, when one game ends the new one starts, and the msg is what catches my eye to tell me the new one started up.
mctrivia: very true! Many pawns have done just that, which no mod minds. Its all in a days work.
The only limitation I guess on a moderator is if they are mod on Features, they cannot edit anything on another board which they are not a mod of. For instance, Rod can edit or delete here, but not on General Chat.
Have you hard of the Global Moderators? They are the backup for all boards, and can edit or delete on any, in an emergancy. Doesn't happen often.
mctrivia: Only pawns cannot delete their own posts. Paying members can edit or delete their own posts.
And moderators can edit or delete anyone's post of the board that they are a moderator on.
Thad has a good point about pawns deleting posts themselves, I believe the reason why they are not allowed was becuase of abuse by multi-nic pawns in the past.
Furthermore, Thad, you do not look like an idiot! No one should have to remember anything. The pawn acted more like an idiot with the response they gave. Thad, you do a great job!
WhiteTower: I didn't know that. Do you mean, if someone created a tourney with 8 players per section, 2 games each, a Pawn needs only 10 slots and not 16???
Pedro Martínez: that's ok, we like black sheep of the Czech society!
we'll think up a reason to make it on topic..... I know! How about changing the black pieces in Amazon's to black sheep, then we can all shoot our arrows at Pedro!!!
Whew, now that we are all back on topic...........
Walter Montego: As I waded though all the other nonsense, (sorry, my opinion only), I caught this idea. I like that Walter!!! I think its a great idea.
this will probably sound rude, and my apologies in advance for it! But I cannot keep quiet anymore.
I figure that since I am not playing any games with another and don't plan to since I do not play chess or checkers, it should not matter one whit to him whether I am cloaked or not.
The way I understood it from Fencer, there will be Globals for each language. For instance, Londo only handles the Czech boards. If someone asked for assistnace on a German board, I would certainly be willing to assist, but I would also check with a German moderator.
The button makes lots of sense, but think about this (devil's advocate) point, If someone sets up a tourney with ALL games listed, would you sign up for everything????
You would think the message number indicator would help since when you scroll over it, the subject displays. The next trick would be to have a HELP alert rather than a message alert. lol
gekrompen hoofd: The number of mods on that board is to ensure that the board is covered at all hours when needed. With this being a global community, its difficult to cover all time zones.
The moderators tend to be united in the decisions as well.
OptimistMB, I agree! That's exactly how the process works.
Seriously, Chuck, I think you have a valid point. Its one thing to make a suggestion as a feature request, but when a discussion/debate starts about that suggestion, any other requests could get 'buried' and not seen. Therefore, the mods would feel it needs to move to another board.
Now with the posting today, I came on after most of it was already posted. The first post that I know of was at 4. March 2005, 07:48:38 my time zone. That is well over 6 hours ago, and I find postings on 3 boards (Members, BK, General Chat) so I jumped in with the spamming the boards comment. Its the way it looked 7 or 8 hours later ... (or however long that was). I certainly did not mean to set you off.
