Jim Dandy: OK, convince me. I'm not a big fan of the dance genre, so maybe I've shut him out, because of that. I got limited lyrics, and Michael Jackson affectations. Tear me up.
Tuesday: Possibly. I'd rather he go free than be wrongly convicted and incarcerated. Just for the record, I have no opinion in his case - I don't know enough about it. But, thanks for the update.
Jim Dandy: I tried a number of things for the percussion and could come close but then realized there are 4 measures in the Jack Jackson version where it's just the percussion. I recorded that 4 measures, and ran it through my looper. So whoever was playing the percussion on the original is the one playing wiht us. ;) There's lots of things one can do with the JamMan! I love that thing.
I have a few other songs I'll post as they get ready. In one there is a complete drum accompanyment. It's my drum machine. I just have to push the buttons at the right time. ;)
Tigger: Oh ROCK ON DAN thanks for sharing those with us..I'm really loving your songs...your playing just gets better and better...that vocalist is really good- such a beautiful pure voice..loved it!
TexasToest: This is our first time playing out (this music) but we've been playing in the worship band at church for many years. Our little group has been together about 1 year trying to get organized. ;)
Tigger: It was obvious to me you'd played together more than a few months. You seem to almost read each other. Good deal! Are there lots of places to play where you live?
That's the way - salesmanship. Haha! I was in a group when I was in high school, and we used to play ANYWHERE, including street corners. The Dallas Morning News once printed a picture of us playing on a railroad track. Honestly, I don't remember why we were playing there! Hahaha!! But, it did get us some publicity for our song, "Throwing Enchiladas at the Wall". That song could have been big down here, but we didn't promote it, we just wrote it to be silly.
Tigger: *chuckles* The judge of a big person is her ability to laugh at herself. I have a lot of admiration for what you're doing, Dan. I know what it takes.
TexasToest: Thanks. Music makes the world go around. I have yet to go to Seattle and play on the sidewalk. That's one thing I'd love to do! Open the guitar case, start playing, and watch the pennies roll in! ;)
Tigger: I'll send you a penny to help you get there. Let me know when you're going, and I'll set up next to you. We can take turns...maybe learn to harmonize.
It's all excellent stuff The song was big here in Canada back in the early 70's not sure if you'd have heard it.It might be a nice addition to your set
upon listen to this version, the hilite is clearly the much enjoyed bell ringing at the start. The pace is too fast,Brian's voice is shot, and Angus's solo is very sloppy
Tigger: oh awesome. I hate chord changes, but you transisted like it was just another breath you were taking. Please let faith know that she has got lots of fans on here
