The debut album from Spanish electro act Com.Pulsion, ''Machines'' delivers 11 tracks and nearly 60 minutes of mixed-up electronic soundscapes with indie influences and alternative-rock attitude. Following in the footsteps of acts such as Culture Kultur, Pail and Narsilion the trio of Luis ( vocals / programming ), Juan ( Keyboards / programming ) and Miguel ( Keyboards ) put all their skills and hard labour to bring forth their truly original compositions - songs with a hard edge and dark undercurrents delivered for fans of bands such as Depeche Mode, Mesh, De/Vision etc...
NEW YORK - The rock supergroup Cream is excited to be reuniting again -- this time to play three shows in New York City. "We're kind of in the same place at the same time," says Eric Clapton, who formed the group in 1966 with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. Cream released four albums before breaking up in 1968. "We were feeling like it would be good to do something worthwhile, not just leave that as a memory," Clapton adds. "When everyone was still available to do it, why not?" Before this year, Cream's only public performance since breaking up was at its 1993 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. The trio reunited for shows in May in England, which yielded the CD and DVD set "Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6 2005." Cream will play Oct. 24-26 at Madison Square Garden. No other shows have been announced.
Eriisa: Downloading most copyrighted music is illegal, but a lot of local bands & such find per to per a great way to spread their music around.
Also some bands (not all) say it is OK to download live music from concerts and such (not copies of Live CD's) - but music which you can only find over the per to per.
Pawn Reaper: Once you master those chords, you will find the rest easier. F played in the 3rd fret, is G, but it may help with your finger positioning and prevent that annoying "thud" we all experienced when learning. ;0)
Nirvana: This is by far the cheapest and best shop I have found for CD's/DVD's and all kinds of PC stuff! I always buy from these. And if you have a problem they reply straight away - I had something on next day delivery and it didn't arrive. I sent them an email about 11pm, got a reply within half an hour! They tracked it and sorted it by 10am the next day.
I'm pleased with it so far ~ my daughters have not yet discovered it is on this computer (they prefer to hide their icons) but once they do I will have to get more blank cdroms for them to burn on to.
this is a Public Discussion Board, not a private fellowship to which subscribers only have access.
This mean that Pawns too may post here, so please, if anyone has some thing to contribute here or a query, don't be shy, please feel free to post, ask or whatever.
I have had a couple of people send me messages asking for the name of a particular song, which has been used in an advertisment for something.
The lyrics sung begin with 'Svetlana sucks lemons ...'
Well I have managed to find the answer ~ the song is 'This side of Blue' on an album called 'The Milk-Eyed Mender' by Joanna Newsom, released on 23rd March 2004, but sadly no longer available to purchase.
However with the help of someone in a hospital radio station, I was directed to:
www.limewire.com
This is a so far very efficient download site, which has a choice of PRO which costs and BASIC which is completely free.
It is simple to install, you do not need to restart in order to complete installation, and you can begin downloading whatever it is you want immediately. Type in what you want and hopefully you will be happy with the outcome.
A group of US and Canadian musicians, including Beck, have recorded a spoof version of Do They Know It's Christmas?
The new version of Bob Geldof and Midge Ure's 1984 charity classic is titled Do They Know It's Hallowe'en.
The record, which also features the Arcade Fire, Sonic Youth and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, will raise funds for UNICEF.
Organisers indie musicians Nicholas Diamonds and Adam Gollner say they hope Sir Bob and Midge "don't kill us" for taking the p*** out of the song.
Diamonds said he thinks the original was "patronising".
"It just perpetuates this myth of Africa as this infertile ground where "nothing ever grows, no rain or river flows". It's obviously not true," he said.
"We wanted to balance it, while taking the p*** out of that song, but have fun doing it.''
Gollner added: "Hopefully, they would take it in stride and think it's funny, but also take a look at their message, which was kind of patronising. Let's just hope they don't kill me.''
The song also features Sum 41, Devendra Banhart, Buck 65, Peaches, the Postal Service, Rilo Kiley and comedian David Cross amongst others.
respectively on October 24th and October 12th are the Einstürzende Neubauten DVDs "Liebeslieder" and "Seele Brennt/Nihil" . "Liebeslieder" is a DVD (both in PAL and NTSC) of the most professional and ‘complete’ Video-Documentation by Einstürzende Neubauten, originally released in 1993 on VHS only. It holds a 100 minutes compilation of the period 1980-1993 mainly consisting of live concert footage, clips and interviews taken from the "Stahlmusik" video (1980), the "Die Grosse Untergangsshow" video (1981) by Wieland Speck, the "Die Berliner Krankheit" video (1981) by Klaus Maeck and Norbert Meisses, the "Ein Abend im SO36" (1982) TV documentary by Albrecht Metzger, the (30min) SF film "Spider's Goodbye" by Albrecht Metzger, the "Decoder" film (1983) by Muscha and Klaus Maeck, the "Halber Mensch" videofilm (1985) by Sogho Ishii and the the "(FM Einheit:) Stein" video (1992) by Walter Lenertz. Furthermore it includes the videoclips for the "Tabula rasa" tracks "Blume", "Salamandrina" and "Die Interimslieben" and a lot of material from the visual vault. "Seele Brennt/Nihil" contains two different films, previously unreleased on DVD. The documentation "Seele Brennt" is a portrait of this seminal industrial act, filmed last year and including previously unreleased film-material and exclusive interviews with the band. Additionally, it also contains material, that was filmed during the recording sessions for Neubauten’s album "Silence is Sexy". The third part of this DVD contains the entire cult movie "Nihil oder Alle Zeit der Welt" from 1987, featuring the members of Einstürzende Neubauten as actors. It’s a film about a group of young terrorists (Neubauten), fighting desperately against an obscure ‘professor’, that represent a personification of all things bad and ugly in today’s civilization.
