to come and pray with her father. When the minister arrived,
he found the man lying in bed with his head
propped up on two pillows.
An empty chair sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow
had been informed of his visit. "I guess you were expecting me, he said.
'No, who are you?" said the father. The minister told him his name and then remarked,
"I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew
I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "Would you mind closing the door?" Puzzled, the minister shut the door. "I have never told anyone this,
not even my daughter," said the man.
"But all of my life I have never
known how to pray.
At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head."
I abandoned any attempt at prayer,"
the old man continued, "
until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter
of having a conversation with Jesus.
Here is what I suggest.
"Sit down in a chair;
place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair.
It's not spooky because he promised,
'I will be with you always'. "Then just speak to him in the same way
you're doing with me right now."
"So, I tried it and I've liked it so much
that I do it a couple of hours every day.
I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking
to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil,
and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called
to tell the minister that her daddy
had died that afternoon. Did he die in peace?" he asked.
Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock,
he called me over to his bedside,
told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later,
I found him .
But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died,
he leaned over and rested his head on the chair
beside the bed. What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said,
"I wish we could all go like that."
Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.
I asked God for water, He gave me an ocean.* I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.* I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of YOU... If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God.
wolfie5: I guess you have to become a member, friend. Then you can create almost anything you want within reason. The best thing is you are asking on God's board.:( Think about it, John.

This website will give you the revelation of this vital time in the history of Israel and the Church. We pray that you might realize the will of God and respond to the Lord's call on your life to "provoke Israel to jealousy."
Deuteronomy 32:21: They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God; They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols. But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.
Romans 11:11-15: I say them, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! For I speak to you Gentiles;inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the death?
Paul here speaks about the Resurrection of Christ Jesus... Yeshua Masshiach - amen
Ruth 1:16: Your People shall me my people, and your God, my God.

ClayNashvilleTN: Heavenly Father: We ask that you be with Clay and his family at this time in their lives. Help them to know that their family members are in Your loving embrace. We all stand with him to support our friend Clay, but it is only through Your support that any of us can cope through our most difficult times and we ask You to be with him.
ClayNashvilleTN: I can relate. The very same thing hit me when my Dad passed away. My Mom has passed away 6 years earlier. When we said goodbye to Dad, we felt just as you do - that we were orphans - and I was not young either. Take good care of yourself.
I am not sure why my Mom's passing seems to me to be the worse. My Secretary said perhaps it hit me that for the first time in my life I was now an orphan.
Wow did that hit home! Then it hit me! Not only is it my Mom but now I truely am an orphan. that sounds so strange to be 62 years old and that bothers me. But I think the thought has lot's of merit.

I have just learned that RockinRon passed away. He had played on BK and GT for many years and was a big music lover. He will be greatly missed by many of his friends at both game sites.
