Chaosu: Stalemate is where the side to move (black here) can make no legal moves and the game is a draw. The king can not move to the g file because all squares are covered by the queen. He can't move to H5 because it is covered by the queen and knight. He cant go to H3 because it is attacked by the bishop. So the king is not in check (so it is not check mate) but he has no legal moves so it is stalemate.
Is this standard chess rule? I never heard about it, I thought I trapped king and that's it but I have to put it on check and trap at the same time. Interesting!
ThunderGr: Think you mean 50 moves. Brainking does not automatically agree a draw but Fencer will make the game a draw if you request it and your opponent will not agree otherwise.
Looking for new members for my fellowship, Brian's 1971 Pub. Starting February 14th, we have 10 chess tournaments beginning. That is chess and 9 chess variants. It is our biggest offering of games ever at the pub. So please send a request for membership if you are not already a member so you can play in these tournaments.
ketchuplover: I am doubting their accuracy. Perhaps they've never heard of BrainKing? Or maybe they personally dislike this site? Or does 109,000 members mean nothing? What criteria do they use for ranking a site for be good for Chess?
ketchuplover: Site visits? I looked at their chart, but I cannot figure out what the columns mean. They do not have a legend explaining the column headers, and I'm not very good with abbreviations when I do not know the subject very well.
Justaminute:Thanks for your compliments. Only one thing in common with computeropponent is we both just play Chinese chess and chess. I am not a player in his class. sounds like you are very worry about he will come back to this board.
ketchuplover: online game site: on the good side: brainking good; itsyourturn better ; xiangqi best on the bad side:xiangqi bad; itsyourturn worse; brainking worst
ketchuplover: And I see It's Your Turn is number 16 now. So what gives? Why the sudden appearance and in the top 100 when just a few weeks ago BrainKing wasn't even on the chart? I wish the chess-links site would explain the column headings and maybe write up something.
