I'm chess noob so I don't understand, can somebody explain to me why this ended as stalemate? Screen Chess (Chaosu vs. francescolr)

Chaosu:
Stalemate is where the side to move (black here) can make no legal moves and the game is a draw.
The king can not move to the g file because all squares are covered by the queen. He can't move to H5 because it is covered by the queen and knight. He cant go to H3 because it is attacked by the bishop. So the king is not in check (so it is not check mate) but he has no legal moves so it is stalemate.

Is this standard chess rule? I never heard about it, I thought I trapped king and that's it but I have to put it on check and trap at the same time. Interesting!

Think you mean 50 moves. Brainking does not automatically agree a draw but Fencer will make the game a draw if you request it and your opponent will not agree otherwise.

Or does 109,000 members mean nothing? What criteria do they use for ranking a site for be good for Chess?
