Last weekend there was a Gothic Chess tournament at the University of Tennessee. I had heard about it on the radio and in the paper and it's only 40 minutes from my house, so I drove by to have a look. Nicely organized event with lots of friendly people playing Gothic Chess (i'd say 100 or more). I did catch a glimpse of Ed Trice walking around playing what people were telling me was a "simul". There were 12 people playing Gothic Chess against him at the same time and he won all of the games. Quite a cutie too if I must say so!! I am not the biggest chess fan, but I think you all have some strange sort of jealous thing going on. Lighten up!
last time he prevailed as we know ... his lost game vs caissus vanished under
mysterious circumstances not only from the backup after a server crash, but also
from the why so bad memory of that hopelessly busted representant of infidelity ... ~*~
if some of the really pity occurances here would
be marked as joke after all, many of their naturally
misleading self-defintions could indeed be funny yet. ~*~
Alex: well I repeat it slowly for you:
no I won't comment - the game is still in progress and only cheaters or less serious
players would interfer now apart of technical statements. - As soon as you have won
. ~*~ . it though, respectively were bored to death by that staller/spammer, I shall have my say.
ughaibu: no I won't comment - the game is still in progress.
as we know only pertinent cheaters would offer their services at analysis
during a running game to sabotate serious players on gameservers ... ~*~
ughaibu: The game Trice-Alex does not affect that what I wrote when I offer a draw.
Well, in the game Trice-Alex a draw offer all three moves wuould be strange enough, yes ... but this can not be prohibited in my opinion. draw offer every move should be only prohibited.
but maybe worth to look at: a checkbox such as "i do not accept draw offers" ...
ughaibu: when i offer a draw, then it i do it because
a) i mean the position is in my opinion equal and
a1) the tournament can be done with the draw (depends on my rank)
a2) i am playing against a strong player and it is such as a "leading question" ... just to know a little bit more what the opponent want ;-)
b) i am in a better position bt in the tournament/match this is enough
Generally it's bad manners to offer a draw in an inferior position, in effect this means that if a draw offer is refused the opponent thinks that their position is better, ie no consecutive draw offers by either player.
danoschek: that is worth to look at ... draw offering privileg alternating between the players, but what about a simple draw offer privilege only two moves after then you offered a draw?
danoschek: Maybe some people do not understand that perpetual-draw-offers are for chessplayers not only unsportsmenlike ... against the whole game.
i think the experienced chess players here know the worth of a draw-offer, often done as a leading question, but never perpetual.
altough we are playing here "virtual" draw offers are useful for psychological playing here too ... as I said: I do not like draw spammers (some from the first move in the game!)
since on features request a self-appointed "preselector"-bully disgruntles all useful
suggestions, we could need some more sincer votes who clearly state their opinion
against notorious, perpetual-draw-offer spammers supposed to be encouraged there ... ~*~
I'm going to post a thematic chess tournament, winners will be those to first double rooks on the 7th, no draws. The tournament'll be entitled "blind pigs" and'll be co-dedicated to the global moderators and the cloak facility.
Just kidding as i said................
You don't have to pay anything.....!
Except if at the tournament notes there is a different statement. But that would be ridiculous and i haven't seen anything yet.......
Hey! Just kidding, i'm not a fool that paid these money..........
(I received a mail saying i'm an idiot that paid 30 Euro, because when you win you pay nothing and since free membership cost less than 30 Euro, what's the reason to participate if you are about to pay more than that you win? The person who sent it must not have a sense of humour or must be a complete idiot!----Sorry......)
ColonelCrockett: oh yes ... it was not me who mentioned any trouble - remember.
the sensible thing with some associations is they grow over a controllable size, we had
that here too: the KMs, after a while stats strike, there's always someone crossing lines ~*~
ColonelCrockett: oh I see, your memory has still not improved ... I was
the guy who never was with some one unless in spirit, not like your clattergang ...
btw how are the nicer folks who try to avoid trouble, like tal for instance ? ~*~
