General talk about movies, TV, radio, and other entertainment discussion.
Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!
ROFL Maybe a real sourpuss.I wouldn't do business there at all,but it's close.
I like prety much anything Action, love stories, comedy, horror not much into space things.
LOL yeah thats the problem, when its somewhere handy you keep going back even though you dont want to....our local newsagents is like that!
Ok, some others I can think of....have you seen any of these?
American Beauty
Donnie Darko
6th Sense
Saving Private Ryan
they are big films & your video shop would more than likely have them in (hopefully) :o)
I believe it is only available in the US, but basicly for $20 a month (with no other fee's) - you can rent as many DVD's as you can. (Limit 3 at one time)
How it works:
They have over 15,000 movies to choose from - You go on-line to make up your movie list (Lets say you put 20 movies on your list)
They will then ship the first 3 movie to you. You then get done with 1 of the movies, you can then ship it back (Pre-paid special mailer which cost you $0.00) - and in 3-6 days you will get the next movie on your list.
I personally don't use them, but I have not heard anything bad about them - just good things. No driving to the video store - no worry about late fees (You can keep the same move for 2 months if you want - yea, it will still cost you $20 a month)
So if you are a type of person who may spend close to $20 a month at the video store - this might be something you can look into.
I have used netflix for my rentals and i think it is the greatest..... not only is there no late fees ... the turn around on movies has only been 2-3 days for me.. ...
Actually while I dug around on Netflix website - I can across this "Fact Page" - which has some interesting notes about netflix.
They actually have 4 different price planes:
$13.95 Four DVDs a month, two (2) titles out at a time
$19.95 Unlimited DVDs, three (3) titles out at a time
$29.95 Unlimited DVDs, five (5) titles out at a time
$39.95 Unlimited DVDs, eight (8) titles out at a time
Plus they have 20 "shipping" centers around the US to try to make the mailing of DVD's be an overnight type thing - or close to it.
Plus If Netflix members, instead of receiving movies by mail, drove two miles each way to a rental store, they would consume 100,000 gallons of gasoline per day and release 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
.... I have no idea why i'm trying to "pitch" this to people when I don't use it myself, but.... :-)
i highly recommend it ... I am one of those people that procrastinates in returning rentals... and for me this works out extremely well.. i have close to 100 dvd's listed in my rental cue list... and you can go in and edit and change the order of rentals any time you want...
Lamby I have seen Saving Private Ryan for sure and maye 6th Sense I don't remember.I'm not very good at movie titles or songs unless they just reach out and grab me.
BBW I should say thank you but you probably just cost me $20 a month with that info.Sounds good.
I use a site called Epinions.com all the time - and it is basicly a site where people can go and give opinions about almost any product - or in this case, web services.
NetFlix has over 350 reviews (Most good, some bad) - but it is always good to read all you can so you know what to expect - Epinions NetFlix Reviews
Save yourself! Blockbuster is haveing a great deal if you bring in a movie for trade, you can get a GOOD movie for $12.99....I traded in a stinker film worth nada and got Pirates Of the Caribbean, which is a HOOT!
Pirates rocked! What an entertaining movie!
Do you have to be a member at blockbuster to do the trade in? We never go there, the competitor store here is much better, BUT they dont offer a trade in on movies.
Plus Ive just recently watched Jabberwocky (I know its not a Python as such, but a Terry Gilliam/Michael Palin) Have you seen that? I thought it was fantastic! :oD
Yes I have seen the Brittas Empire.....& Mr Brittas is sooooooooo annoying, put politely! LOL
BTW another British comedy series you may be interested in, which is also by Terry Gilliam & Michael Palin, done in the late '70's, is "Ripping Yarns"...ever heard of it? Very funny! :oD
Ive seen Hattie Hayridge live doing stand-up comedy, she was brilliant! :oD
Hmmmmm dont know if I have a fav character, I like them all really for differnt reasons & together they make a great team! :o)
