General talk about movies, TV, radio, and other entertainment discussion.
Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!
They have some of those shows on the local PBS staton here as well on a small channel which has detective shows to. Has anyone watch Mary Walsh's show "Open Book"?
LuckyCat9: I wouldn't say that the callers are "weirdos" per say, just ordinary people who have witnessed 1st hand & decide to call in. Believe me, I would call in myself. I do believe in UFO's, aliens, ghosts & everything else. Art Bell hasn't left the program, he cut his worktime down (somewhat retiring) to spend time w/ his family an such. He still does at least 2 Sunday's per month
MagicDragon: I remember a show back in the old Art Bell days where this guy called in and talked about how he built a time machine in his backyard using a Jacob's Ladder or some such. He told Art that when he woke up this morning his couch was missing from his livingroom! He figured it was due to the magnetic tug coming from his backyard that must've dragged the couch into the field. That one was almost believable.
One phenomenon that I never hear on Art Bell is any reference, call, research, or passing comment about the hulking Billywack Monster from Ventura County, California. Hmmmm, I wonder why...?
nobleheart: 'Dead like me' isnt new, just new to Showcase or Bravo, who ever is showing it in Ca. I saw both seasons on DVD this past spring and summer. Awesome series. Too bad they cancelled it after only 2 season.
MagicDragon: Funny you mentioned Ambush Makeover and Design Invasion! They used to be the only two shows I watched during the day. Now the only thing on my TV during the day is Sesame Street or Baby Einstein. :)
All: I have been watching season one of 24 on DVD. Does anyone watch that show? WOW...intense. I'm hoping to catch up on all the shows before the new season starts.
SueQ: We got in to 24 this summer when nothing but reruns were on.. We rented all 3 seasons with in 3 weeks ( bugged eyed rose ) I never watched a single episode when it was on TV but wow it is good!
SueQ: I never watched 24 since it seemed like one of those shows if you miss an episode, you would get lose - but think it would be great to watch on DVD when you can watch many episodes back to back all at once.
MONDAY: NBC - Surface.
TUESDAY: WB - Supernatural (VERY GOOD)
TUESDAY: NBC - My Name is Earl (looks good)
BIG BAD WOLF: Supernatural is very good...not going to miss an episode & looking Forward to watch Ghost Whisperer but everything else I'll probably lose some sort of interest ( no offense taken)
So far of the new shows, (FOX) Bones is the one which I have so far passed on. I watched it - it was OK and I will watch it if I'm around - but nothing I will be disapointed if I miss.
Also the "Made in the USA" on USA is another show which looked good, but it's turning too much into a "survivor" type show whe contestents have to now compete against each other - not anything to do with what they invented.
Well surface TV show is on right now here... well it is suppose to be on.
About 2 minutes after it started, the satilite went out - forcing me into a different room which can pick up local NBC.
O'wait - at the first of September, our local NBC & ABC switched networks. So now the TV that use to pick up the local NBC pretty good now picks up local ABC pretty good.
OK - play around, got a static-full NBC station - comes in OK some of the time.
UGH - Stupid storm - Of course the weatherman will not break into any of the commercials for the storm report, lets break into the premier of a new show.
Then for the last 8 minutes, the station went out - all if get is the "ABC Station" logo on the screen.
YEA - Satilite is working again - now I get a very very clear "ABC Station" logo on the screen.
YEA - just as I wrote that last part, the show came back on. Of course now I'm totally lost. Hopefully they will repeat it sometime this week.... will go search. :-(
(quick update - Yea, SciFi is going to repeat the show 3 times this week - so hopefully I will actually get to watch the show to find out if I want to DVR the rest of the season or not.)
Tonight is the premier of Ghost Whisperer & what I've seen in the previews, it looks quite good but also on tonight for 1 hr is SuperNanny....Going to tape 1 show & watch the other
Ghost Whisperer has been on for 15 minutes and it is OK - good enough to watch since nothing else is currently on that I want to watch - but nothing I will DVR.
Next is the second episode of Threshold - One of my current favorite new shows.
After that is Numbers - one of the few shows from last seasons (The 4400 & Lost) that I make sure not to miss.
BIG BAD WOLF: Well I did miss the 1st 30 minutes but my Mother likes the show & she doesn't like too many shows at the moment. Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, She Spies are her favorites
Here is a site which has all the current TV & radio shows from the US, Canada & Australia that are either still on the air, on hiatus or cancelled http://www.epguides.com/
SueQ: Not even know why they are off the air here. Design Invasion is 1 show I wouldn't miss..so many ways tyo redecorate w/o going thru all that expense
Skyking: I sure hope so...not that many good shows that are actually showing at the moment that aren't good at all or keeping my attention for very long
Bluesday: I was surprised to hear about the final season.. but i dont know how well its been doing the last few years..
Im surprised ER is still going after 11 seasons. One original cast mate in the show left and she left and came back after 5 years!
