prqiewis1: This problem has been discussed before, there is not a thing the site can do to help you out concerning the page too big problem. The fault lies with your classic unit, it seems some people has more trouble with the page too big than others but the classics are bad about it. The reason why it is happenning to you so much MIGHT be that you have a slow connection rate. Do you know how to check it? All you do is go into settings, then mail, then click on word list. Then click add word and what you do is type &rate; make sure its the ; at the end, then click done. Now when you check it will show at what rate your connected to, it could be anywhere from 24k to 56k, the higher the better. But even after doing all that there is nothing that can be done to help you out. Just a thought, if the rate is real low try to call webtv and ask them if your 56k modem is activated, they will check and do it for you and that might help. Other than that i don't know any more...

i seemed to be having trouble getting into some of the games i get the msg page to big to load is it a problem we all have or is it just me ..i'm trying to accept a game but all it saying page to big or webyv users only allowed to play certain game any help would be welcomed thanks

I noticed in my left hand list of games I have played that also shows my ratings I see some of the ratings are in italics and others are not.. Is it the ones NOT in italics are your BKR ratings after provisional rating?

I paid full price and have not been happy here. All my chess teammates left for various reasons that were not fixed promply and now I am here without my team...but have this membership. You can change the name once you get my password...any offers????

Rose: Yes, italic means provisional, regular means established. It says that in the help or FAQ somewhere (don't remember which).

It says at the bottom that black resigned (drgnrdr). However, if you look on either player's profile, it says drgnrdr won. It seems most likely that white resigned (although i guess i can't be sure!) :-)

This game was just completed. It hasn't affected my rating (was a rated game), and does not even show up on either of our profiles under completed games. (even if the rating difference was enough to not move mine, it should at least show up!)

Can't imagine why you aren't happy. This has to be the best and fastest run turn based sight that is online at present. Too bad you can't see the site for all its +'s.. AND YES Fencer does fix problems faster then any other site owner does!

I don't know. As I remember, there was a problem with draw offers but it is already fixed.
Actually, no site is totally flawless. It is impossible. Nobody can test all features and combinations.

Fencer....I just want to say that you are doing an excellent job with brainking. You listen to the people that have suggestions as well as complaints. My opinion of it all is this....anyone who comes to this site can "sample" the games as well as the site itself, before buying membership. You are limited to games but not turns which is awesome! I spend more time on brainking than I do any other game site. So my thoughts on it all is that maybe there is something other than your site that is wrong with someone wanting to sell their membership. Like money problems after Christmas or something. I honestly can not believe that this site is not the "BEST"! :)

ummmmm, i'm not sure if your relativly new to web-tv or not, but if you're having that phrase "to big to be shown completely" come up more than a couple times, or when you submit after playing a game and you get a blank white page. then it is time to shut your web-tv unit "off".. this lets it "re-boot itself" or clean it's "ka-HOO-cheez" (lol) and then you can go again.. only takes a minute or so.. should be ok again for a while.. :-))

Just a temporary solution [more important tasks in the queue], try to switch to "Dark color scheme" on your Settings page. Is it better?

Id go for dark color scheme..AND sunglasses, and then tomorrow hopefully Im back on white color scheme..:P

Its not money, heck $28 is mearly dinner out. And I did test the site out before joining. I asked fencer for a refund which he is unwilling to give. They got great games there and I have been a gold paying memember there for 4 years...6 at itsyourturn.com!!! Its sad....there are 25 members on my chess team..all paying full membership at GT. They were really excited about brainking till the problems started popping up and they were not getting fixed. At least I was willing to PAY for my game playing honestly..I believe in paying for the efforts a webmaster puts together for our benifit and not being a "freebee" player who plays under an assortment of names so she can get in all the games she wants. been paying 4 years at GT? hmmmmmmm what you been smoking?? GT hasnt been online 4 years NOR has it been charging for more then 2 max!!! yuppers GT has been around longer than you're aware...when they first started their site, I became a contributing member...yes, before you could even play there!!! And you can keep the smoke. It dont interest me.

One last thought (I'm full of them tonight!), I've also encountered some 'not nice' people here, you get them on every site. Add them to your 'enemies' list, thats what its there for, and just play the nice people. They far out-number the horrible people!

I play on there too, but you can have the best of both worlds! I've found the people on here just as nice as GT, and just as many nutters too!!
And I consider this to be the better site of the two, just for the variation of games and service fencer gives.

aww Kevin, your such a sweetie!!!! Its just that I have only so much time available to play. I am the vise pres of our chess team and have a commitment to play where the team plays. Its nothing personally against this site...my feelings are not always the same as the team...but the team decided as a whole to leave. Been reading all the post and I want to say that I honestly don't like the user name. I have a daughter that plays on here and I'm sorry....but the name is a bit much. I do have one question though....you said your chess team left this site. Did they have problems quitting as well? I am fairly new to this site and I don't want to buy any membership at the moment because I am reading post like these and think it best to wait to see what all the site is about. Good and bad. There is no perfect site and no perfect person. And I'm sorry, but I would not open any mail with the name "F*** Y** T**" as the sender. I'm sure if everyone could calm down a bit, these issues could be resolved.

I have noticed that sometimes the "Friends On-line" shows "none" when there are friends on-line. I have checked to make sure that I have them listed as my on-line friends and sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't until I go to "Who is On-line". It usually shows up there but just not at the bottom of the page. Am I doing something wrong?

I like brainking alot because it is fast compared to the others. And GT would be better if they would let the peopl who don't pay to play the game variations. I am a member at GT for now.

Yep, those are the 2 :-) I have heard of others that other people play at, but don't remember what they are. You can try searching on any search engine for something like "turn based board games" if you want to find more.
