Czuch: I don't think you'll find many people (Democrat or Republican) disagreeing that Saddam was a bad man,or that Iraq wasn't exactly a happy place to live for most of its people. The divide kicks in when asked if it was worth the sacrifice.
Artful Dodger: I don't know, when I watch hilites of a football game where a team was trounced say, 45-10,I'd be more skeptical if the reporter focused on the great field goal kicked by the losing team
Onderwerp: Re: (do liberals even have any values and ideals?)
Czuch: I'll be honest with you.The premis of your question is a lousy start point for any discussion I'd want to join. But good luck with your tossing of red meat
Onderwerp: Re: libs are so afraid of conservatives that they feel like they need to slant their news stories and warp our minds just to make liberalism more tolerable.
Czuch: I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that Hannity doesn't appeal or speak for your average Republican anymore than Olbermann speaks for your average Democrat. They both appeal to the "frothing at the mouth' factions, in my opinion
CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who was cited in a criminal complaint against Rod Blagojevich, went to the U.S. Attorney's office about alleged wrongdoers, including the Illinois governor, a Jackson spokesman said Tuesday.
Jesse Jackson Jr. reported in 2006 what he believed was a shakedown by the Illinois governor.
Jackson rejected being labeled with the term "informant" in a message to CNN contributor Roland Martin.
[...] In addition, two sources close to Jackson told CNN that, in 2002, Blagojevich -- then running for governor of Illinois -- solicited a $25,000 campaign donation from Jackson, which he did not get.
At the time, Jackson's wife, Sandi, was a candidate for the job of director of the state's Lottery Commission, a post she did not win, the sources said.
After Blagojevich took office, in early 2003, he told Jackson something to the effect of, "You see what $25,000 would have done?" the sources said.
In 2006, Jackson reported the incident, which he believed to have been an attempt at a shakedown, the sources said.

Czuch: And your thoughts on his evil counter balance twin Hannity?
Onderwerp: Re: libs are so afraid of conservatives that they feel like they need to slant their news stories and warp our minds just to make liberalism more tolerable.
(V): I suppose, talk radio(for instance) is dominated by conservative views in the states,it is what it is.I don't see the point of debating fact, but carry on
You can actually enjoy watching both left and right leaning programs regardless of ones personal views.I'm a liberal, but I can't stand Olbermann,I'm sure there are Republicans who feel the same about Hannity, who cares
Onderwerp: Re: libs are so afraid of conservatives that they feel like they need to slant their news stories and warp our minds just to make liberalism more tolerable.
Artful Dodger: Isn't this a media conversation?
Not that it matters, but I don't see a resolution in sight on this topic anyway, both sides of the discussion are far too dug in
Onderwerp: Re: The hard news at Fox is NOT biased and you can't provide even ONE example that it is. OTOH, I have provided examples of other HARD news outlets showing blatant bias.
(V): I agree,I don't see the point of those who argue Fox doesn't lean strongly to the right,it's not that big a deal. For some reason it drives those who work for or watch Fox nuts. It's just a given in my opinion, just like MSNBC leaning far left, who cares
Onderwerp: Re: The hard news at Fox is NOT biased and you can't provide even ONE example that it is. OTOH, I have provided examples of other HARD news outlets showing blatant bias.
Artful Dodger: Facts? how do you prove a comic is funny, statistically? I'm pretty comfortable sticking my neck out on this one
Onderwerp: Re: The hard news at Fox is NOT biased and you can't provide even ONE example that it is. OTOH, I have provided examples of other HARD news outlets showing blatant bias.
Artful Dodger: In all seriousness, who other than Fox employees and likeminded viewers aren't aware of the bias? I mean come on.I don't care about their bias, what I find silly is their constant denials while keeping a straight face MSNBC is much the same, but I doubt their viewers would try and state otherwise, they just sit back and enjoy
Artful Dodger: What press are you speaking of? or media in general. The press is played by both parties much like a coach works the refs.Historically both parties have had the press in their pockets at one time or another, even GW had his moments in the sun. When I read "Obama's relationship to Blagojevich is important to know' it reminds me of all the others who's name was placed at the top of that quote in relation to Obama this past election.Rezco,Wright,Ayers,it never ends. The investigation into Blagojevich is underway,if Obama has done anything wrong we'll find out.I suppose if a politician went to a concert not knowing that a former axe murderer was also at the show we'd be hearing "blankity blank's relationship to Dave the axe murderer is important to know" Can you imagine how this "guilt by being in the same time zone" mentality is effecting any politician who aspires for office these days?
they probably won't enter a burger king without doing background checks on everyone in line
Onderwerp: Re: "The White House said a disorderly bankruptcy in the motor industry would be a huge blow which the US economy could not withstand."
Czuch: I'm not interested in either word games,or silly messege board battles where the initial post becomes twisted beyond recognition.I said my piece, carry on
Artful Dodger: You think they've been easy on Blagojevich? It hasn't seemed that way,and I don't see him getting any support from either party.Craig seemed to have no problems completing his term after he had said he was resigning.
Onderwerp: Re: "The White House said a disorderly bankruptcy in the motor industry would be a huge blow which the US economy could not withstand."
Artful Dodger: re:" If the Republicans do to Obama what the Democrats did to Bush, then the Republicans are a lower life form than slime"
He had the country in the palm of his hand after 9/11,.....he was given a blank check and proved himself untrustworthy.Obama has yet to take office,if he performs like Bush,he should recieve the same treatment.
Onderwerp: Re: Change we can believe in. Can Obama deliver?
anastasia: Strategically the Republicans may be wise to sit this one out.Obama may point the economy in the right direction, but the benefits aren't sometimes felt for a number of years.Obama may end up doing the heavy lifting, but the Republicans may reap the rewards.
Onderwerp: Re: Change we can believe in. Can Obama deliver?
Czuch: Repairing the infrastructure is a wise move in this place in time. It's not going to solve the financial mess, but it's a logical start point towards the big picture.
